How do you get it to work? Mine plays on my GBA SP, no problem, but gives me a black screen on my DS Phat after the Game Boy Advance bootup screen.
That can be a pins issue.

If you were doing it properly then
clean the pins with contact cleaner (not the automotive kind, it is too harsh)
remove and insert the cart a bunch of times
maybe put a bit of paper folded a couple of times between the case and the back of the PCB to force better contact.

Most opt however to skip the first step (and contact cleaner is kind of expensive if you don't use it everyday) or go right for the third.

all gba flashcarts work in a ds lite. i have a ds lite myself and 3 gba flashcarts for it..
HOWEVER, GBC\GB flashcarts like the everdrive gb will not work, DS lite doesn't support GBC\GB cards even official. only gba.
(to be clear, everdrive gba will work fine)

something wrong with your side then... as fast said probably connection issue...

Can you show me how to do that 3rd step, but with pics? I dunno what a "PCB" is.

Sorry. PCB = printed circuit board aka the thing with all the electrical components on it.
In this case, like most consumer products, it has a shell around it to protect it. Between the shell and the back of the PCB you can insert a piece of paper folded a few times to put a bit of pressure on the PCB and in turn the electrical contacts inside the GBA slot -- I don't know if the EZ4 is not made to quite as high a tolerance as the original GBA shells or the DS slot is not as good but it is what it is. There is not really a lot you can go wrong with here.

You can disassemble it if you want, it will likely be a smaller Phillips of some form. Many people manage to slip it in between the case and the PCB without pulling it to bits.

pcb is what we call the green board thing :D (usually they are green, sometimes blue, black, depends on the manufacter)

What screwdriver do I use?

if you have the white MINI SD version of the ez iv be careful, after you remove the screw, open it gently, i did break the hinge that holds both pieces togheter,
the hinge is in the sd card side. if you break it the card still works, but i had super glue mine because the broken hinge was like "swelling" making a gap in the side

@migles What kind of DS Cartridge do you use for your Lite? Im deciding to buy one, but the cartridge world in that area is wide and most sites are a bit outdated.

for GBA games? an ez flash iv flashcart will do just fine, but there is the new one that will be released soon, the ez flash omega, which is the upgraded version of the ez flash iv. i would wait for it...
there is the ez REFORM, which is the same card as the ez flash iv but smaller to fit a ds lite

for ds games, an r4 from the r4ids.cn brand https://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=575
make sure it's from that EXACT brand.
it says "3ds" but just means it's compatible with the 3ds, this card is also "a kit" ready to flash a 3ds console into cfw which is really useful

Yeah I currently have a GBA SP with a EZ- Flash IV and am planning to buy the Omega, but due to the fact that the omega also comes in a cartridge fit for the DS Lite I wanted to know more about it. I think it would be great to play GB/GBC/GBA/NES/DS games on one console.

Ah great, thanks! This is what I wanted to know. Now I only need to find a good seller in Europe who does not charge a shipping price equal to the price of the cart ;)

The new gba flashcart ez-flash omega works too.

It does not support DS games, which you off course also want if you have a DS lite. Hence, my question
