Hacking Playing PS1 and PS2 PAL Games on a CECHB00

Hello,

so I am about to purchase a PS3 CECHB00 and was wondering beforehand if you are even able to play PS1 and PS2 PAL Games on that Console via CFW since its a japanese Unit ?

And also if the PS2 Backward Compatibility is still hardware based and near 100% that way ?

If it's hardware BC, then you can only play Japanese titles. If you bought them through PSN, then no worries, while you're using them with HDMI.

Since you're doing HEN/CFW, then you don't have to worry about anything.

So you mean I cant play them when I insert the original Discs, but playing them converted as ISO via CFW is no problem and doesnt make a difference ?

Yeah if you convert them to iso or pkg, you should be able to play them, since CFW is free of those restrictions.
