Hacking Problem to use libfat on my r4i card

Hi

I have a R4 2014 3DS upgrade SDHC Revolution for RTS lite www.r4isdhc.kk. Like this image but with different web site so i think it's a clone.

I wish to test my chip-8 emulator with libfat to read files on SD. I have the message : fatInitDefault failure

I tried using dldi patcher for my roms, even if my cards seems to auto patching. Of course without success.
I also reformat my card with an SD formatter (fat).

I wish to know what are my options.
Can I use some tools like TWiLiteMenu++ on nintendo DS for using libfat ?
And Can I only use it without installing so I can keep my DS unmodified ?

In the same time, I wish to test my dev with libfat on emulator. I have DeSmuME 0.9.11. I tried to use the gba slot but I have always the same message "fatInitDefault failure".
I tried with folder and image file fat.
If someone know a different emulator or how doing this ? Thanks in advance.

It sounds maybe more an SD Card Issue..

Wrong formatted:
- FAT or FAT32 formatted ?
- Cluster Size used ?

or
- maybe Size of the Card ?
It is very unlikey,but possibly you can only use 2 GB / non SDHC / SDHX / SDXC Cards ?

My advice is to use YSMenu, an alternative, almost universal and very compatible, kernel/firmware; I don't guarantee it will work, but it costs nothing to try: https://gbatemp.net/threads/retrogamefan-updates-releases.267243/
First make a backup of your r4 old software, and copy in the root of the SD the files contained in the "DSTT/i" folder, or in another folder (one whose files correspond to those to be replaced).
Then test your emulator first without dldi patching, then with it.

Hum ...

The card is microSD 2GB.
I format to fat32 cluster 4ko. libfat doesn't work.
I tried with dldi file.libfat doesn't work.
I install DSTTi-Clone YSMenu. doesn't work but don't have the ysmenu.nds
I install R4i-SDHC YSMenu for the ysmenu.nds as my card is a r4isdhc. White screen and nothing.
The NDS doesn't see my R4.
Reformat microsd, copy my old software and The NDS doesn't see my R4.

If you do not find another solution, at this point I recommend the purchase of a r4 gold pro 2021, really cheap and effective; many have bought it with satisfaction.
You can find it on eBay for € 13 or so and it works with its own (updated) kernel and with YSMenu.

P.S. Are you sure you have put ALL the old kernel files back in the SD?
That r4 worked before and now it no longer works, it' s IMPOSSIBLE!
In this site you will find all possible and imaginable kernels/firmwares; search for the files based on the website of your r4:

But it's possible. And I put all the files. I already tried yesterday by formating my minisd to fat32 and copy all my files with success.
I'll try this site but I don't know witch to choose. Can we find information of a carte inside the kernel files ?

Yep I tried FAT32 and FAT with 3 different software.
I don't think I have another card but I will look.

This silver cartridge looks the same as yours, but more recent; you could try to download its software...

After 12 differents software, and multiple formating, test with another nintendo ds. My nds don't see the R4.
Maybe it's the end of life for her. RIP

I'll buy a new one at the end of the month, I find an R4 gold 2019 Dual-Core SDHC pour DS - DS Lite - DSi - DSi XL - 3DS - 2DS - 2DS XL in stock on Amazon.
