Thx, I appreciate you catching me up, I skipped some versions/changes and I'm trying to update my mental notes on your great tool :)

Edit: can the latest priiloader also load binaries from sd root (similar to old versions of priiloader)? Or only from the apps folder like the hbc?

Out of curiosity, is there a way to get the priiloader binary itself (not the installer) without compiling it, or installing/extracting it from the nand?

Edit: feel free to ignore if I'm being a pain, I can manage to grab it using other means

Yeah I deserve that, cheers

Edit: I read the changelog, not sure if I missed it (as I am reading this in the middle of a soccer "match" with my kids), but I couldn't find anything on this specifically

@ version 0.6 it says it "made load/install binary load fat:/apps/ folder" & @ 0.8 it says "added argument + ahbprot support for dols".

no, the binary is plugged in the installer on compilation. my best bet would be to compile it yourself as the app is really not meant to be played with unless you know what youre doing tbh. the installer does all sorts of things to make priiloader work correctly (and undo it when uninstalling).
for example, it grants Priiloader/System Menu full hardware access using AHBPROT ( see changelog of the dreaded 0.5 release)

For installation to an emunand, I have ModMii just rename the system menu .app file (changing first 0 to a 1 similar to the official installer), then copy the priiloader .app file to the system menu's original name\location, and hackshas.ini to the system menu data folder. Seems to be working okay... unless I'm missing something (I haven't tested all the functions in Priiloader installed to emunand)

Trust me, I have no intention to trying to install this to real nand using any other means that your official installer :)

I've found what I believe is an issue with Priiloader. When I have ignore standby turned on in Priiloader so that my Wii turns completely off even with standby enabled, if I use the power button on the Wiimote to shut it off, sometimes what happens is the Wii turns off, but the Wiimote remains on and shows as connected to player 1. It's solved by just holding power on the Wiimote until it turns off.

were you in priiloader itself when you pressed the power button or in an application? if it is an application, can this be replicated from something like system menu?

on first glance in the code, priiloader seems to loop all wiimotes and disconnects them when the button is pressed from within priiloader's menu.

I can't remember. I believe it has happened from inside a game (I believe CTGP-R) and possibly at the System Menu as well. I'll try reproducing it soon.

let me know. i'd like that info to reproduce it or see where the bug might be
After some testing, I have figured out that this bug isn't exactly the way I described it.

I have been able to reproduce this on the System Menu when trying to power off, but it's a little different than I described before.

When I hold the power button on the Wiimote, the Wiimote does turn off and the screen does fade to black. However, if you press a button on the Wiimote in between the time the screen fades to black and the time when the Wii's power LED goes to red, the Wiimote actually ends up connecting to player 1, and the console still turns off, but the Wiimote never disconnects. If you do not press a button on the Wiimote after holding the power button, it shuts off just fine.

What I'm not sure about is if this is because of Priiloader bypassing standby or if this is normal and it happens when you have standby disabled and you turn off your Wii normally without Priiloader needing to bypass standby.

ye, i think it has to do with priiloader. official software reboot into system menu when a shutdown is requested. System menu (and priiloader) detects the request and shuts down the system. Priiloader init's input on startup (keyboard, gamecube controller, wiimote) to check if a boot cancel is requested ( by pressing B or esc on keyboard ). im going to verify if it shuts it down correctly afterwards if it detects the shutdown

EDIT : ye, when shutting down from detecting the booting mode it didn't shutdown the input. probably happened when the input init was added for the keyboard support.

I have a problem with the wii mote and priiloader. When I enter the priiloader menu my wii mote turns on and everything is ok, but when I press down or up to move on the menu it takes around 10 seconds to recognize it, even sometimes it does not respond. My wii mote is original without motion plus and I have tried uninstalling and installing priiloader but it still continues to fail. I tried to use a GC controller but it doesn't seem to work well either, it does the same thing as the wii mote. Before the update I had no any problem so I don't understand why this happens now after updating it.

I have (still) the same "Issue" (reported it on the first Pages here...).
I think it has to do with the HDD itself (initialising or "wakeup")
WD (Elements) I presume ?

Can you share a Syscheck? In particular I'm wondering if you have a "unique" system menu IOS installed

https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Edit: I just saw alexander1970's post, sounds like it has more to do with the usb than the system menu IOS, so you can probably ignore this message (although sharing a Syscheck never hurts anything)

Here it is. I don't think it had anything to do with IOS in this case.

Great homebrew, remember using it long ago. Saved my ass a couple of times. But it's kinda weird it's still not 1.0, with wii long ded. Well, number are arbitrary anyway.

ye, i have some usb access stuff planned to fix that but i got distracted by a different project
