Hi,

I am currently using a launch model switch with a replacement battery (purchased off of Amazon for $20 CAD).

I'm on the following (C)FW:

11.0.0
AMS M.18.1
I'm using AutoRCM and do the following to get into CFW:

  1. Inject Hekate 5.5.4 (using TegraRCM)
  2. Launch fusee-primary.bin (from hekate)

I have had issues with the battery draining relatively fast down to 1% and then staying there for hours.

I have tried the following:

Power Cycle Option 1

- drain switch down until the blinking red charging light shows up
- charge until 100%
- repeat this 3 times

Power Cycle Option 2

- drain switch until it completely power off
- charge switch for at least 6 hours
- repeat this 3 times

Unplug Battery

- unplug battery
- hold power for 20s
- re-plug battery

Now, the battery doesn't drain quite as fast as before (although still not great), but I've noticed that the capacity of the switch's battery is much lower than the design. It seems as though the max is always 3700 mAh (see attached pic)

Is this normal?

Why is the battery still draining relatively fast?

Would a new battery from a better seller be a good idea to purchase?

Hello @dqrx !
To me, it looks like a bad battery. As in not unusable but definitely not stock.

This sometimes happen with knock-off iPhone batteries, it's written 1800mAh on it but in actuality it barely reaches 1500mAh. You get strange readings because the voltage is good when at full capacity but when you start draining the battery, the voltage drops way faster than what the device predicted so you see the percentage trickle down by the second as the device struggles to give an accurate reading.

So yeah, I'd suggest changing the battery with one from a reputable seller. I haven't tested the batteries from my provider but I don't think he ships to Canada.
I'd aim for 20€ with +95% good reviews and a warranty.
