So from what I gleaned patching english text into the jp release is unviable and some issues (boob slider, prez's speech, etc.) have no obvious workaround for the time being, that mean there's really no way to get a completely undub/uncensored game? Think it'll happen down the line somehow? Not that I don't appreciate the work that's already been done of course.

I haven't been looking into this in a long time (and fwiw I don't even really know what I'm doing; most of the work was already done by other people and I just made something to copy files to the correct place really). But afaik, yeah, patching the english text over to the japanese isn't really viable, and no clue about the boob slider. If you want the tedious workaround, you can load the japanese game, create your character there and save it. Then you can copy over the save file, and load it in the Undubbed version. This should allow you to change breast size as well as pick a few voice lines that are otherwise inaccessible in the english version.

As for the prez speech (and also lip syncing and whatnot), they're contained in some files I forget the name of, but they'd have to be reverse engineered first I guess.

so following the brazillian method of install I've actually managed to get this running on my Wii U with the undub, but i'd really like to have the 8th female Japanese voice option for my character ("sultry") that of course, does not appear as an option in the english version of the character creation menu. i've tried installing the japan version of the game, making the character, saving and extracting the save and applying it into the finished install of the undub; and it seems to have worked to a point - the voice grunts are all there while exploring the field until I get into a battle, where my character is dead silent and i only see the "UNUSED" soul voice prompts.
i'd like to try repatch and repack the game with that Japanese voice option on one of the 7 visible options in the English version to see if this fixes my problem, but I'm not even sure what files i'd need to look for and just what that process would be, would anyone be able to help? I think someone did something similar a few pages back.

It's been quite a while now since I've done anything related to xcx so I might be wrong, but a quick look at the files the player voice lines should be in content/stream/voice/pc/us/
They're in .adx format, but you should be able to play them with foobar and this https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_adpcm
And then it's just about finding the relevant voice lines and replacing them with the ones you want to use.

I thought the soul voices did work for the additional japanese voices as well, but maybe I'm remembering wrong and I did the whole replacing shebang or just never noticed myself when I played it.

Hi people,

I have been playing my copies of Xenoblade games, overplayed the hell of them (damned last missing blade and its leveling in XC2), and decided to finally unwrap Xenoblade Chronicles X from my collections.

I dumped both my Japanese and European games, copied them from my Sd card to a Pc and then tried the XenobladeChroniclesXPatch.exe

However, I have this after lauching the exe:

Problem signature:

I realise it is more than quite possible I am missing something... but I do not know what or how.

Please, I would appreciate a detailed tutorial for this process and or an explaination of the error I am getting.

Thx in advance.

Well, because the patcher in OP didn't seem to work properly for me and some other people, I decided to write my own (+ I get some practice with coding so that's nice).

If anyone could test it, that would be awesome. I think I've made sure everything works, but who knows when stuff breaks, so yeah. (So make a backup of your game in case :P)

Download link (v1.1)
Using the patch shouuuld be pretty self explanatory I think.

The patcher lets you pick between undubbing, uncensoring and font size patching (or everything at the same time), as well as the option to delete any English line that isn't replaceable. It should also do a md5 check on all the .cpk's that get used during the patching, and I kinda just assume the EU and US versions are identical. Tell me if they're not. You can continue the patch anyway even if it detects different md5 values. It should also make sure you're actually in a folder that's patchable and stuff like that.

Backups of all modified files will be saved in a Backup folder where the patch resides. The patch also unpacks chr_pc.cpk, which is a pretty huge file. This means that you'll need quite a bit of free space for the patch to work with.

For the undub and uncensoring patches, you'll need the Japanese game as well, while you'll only need the English game for the font size patch.

What the patch does:
Undub:
-----------------------
- Replaces every file tagged _us in \movie folder with its Japanese counterpart.
- Replaces every file in \stream folder with its Japanese counterpart. (Includes _f and _m tagged files)
- Adds all the missing voice choices from the Japanese game. (Not the menu in-game, just the files.)
- Replaces every file in ev.cpk\stm\us with its Japanese counterpart.
- Replaces every file in snd.cpk\se\voice with its Japanese counterpart.

Remove Leftover English:
-----------------------
- Deletes every file that has a filename that does not match a file in the Japanese game. (Does not include tagged files such as _us or _f and _m)

Uncensor:
-----------------------
- Replaces every file in chr_pc.cpk tagged _us with its Japanese counterpart.

Font Size:
-----------------------
- Replaces eurasia.fnt and normal.fnt in menu.cpk\font\us with eurasia.fnt from menu.cpk\font

Changelog:
v1.1
-----------------------
- Improve some logic on folder validation. Should now only require the relevant files to be patched depending on which checkboxes are selected.
- Fixing a stupid overlap in the GUI that I didn't notice.

Thanks i just used this to make a MOD for cemu 1.15 (it supports game mods loading ,without actually changing original game files), preliminary test it seems to be working good.
I was wondering, if u know/remember which files have gui for controls stored? I am hoping to replace button icons with dualshock icons

Also a question:
Left-over files, are they removed from loading in cpk? Or kept? (in that case they might try to load and cause voice-overlap)

@Lamhirh Hey, I have no idea and don't have the time to find out. A very quick google search seems like it could be related to unicode/non-unicode fonts, or just not having a high enough version of .NET. You could try that and see if it works. Other than that, your best bet is probably to either try the patch in OP, or find an already patched version somewhere.

@IceLancerSR Unfortunately I don't remember. Looking at the files I guess menu.cpk is a good place to start looking.

Left-over files, iirc, were files in the English version that didn't have any equivalent file with that filename in the Japanese version. What the patch does in that case is to just straight up remove the files from the .cpk. As far as I remember the game just doesn't find the voice clip and doesn't play anything in those cases.

Now i want to install it on the Wii U,but it is in Loadliine format, is there an easy way to convert it to install via Wup installer?

Thanks.

Thanks for your input, after putting this in the side for a bit, I just came back to it and finally managed to using both Japanese and Eu copies to creating my undub :)

Is that awful lipsync caused by undub, or this game was made like this? I'm asking, because I played Xenoblade 2 completely in Japanese (I have Japanese special edition) and lipsync was perfect.
The transaltion is almost as terrible as Xenoblade 2 (at least they kept most character names intact here) so I'm thinking about switching to Japanese completely too (but I'm afraid about kanji on TV though, English text is almost unreadable on 55 inch screen when I'm playing about 5m from my TV, so for kanji I will need some kind of binoculars probably...)

Since this is about xenoblade x does anyone know of a code/save editor that unlocks achievements? Or more specifically, the two miiverse achievements?

Color me interested too.

God I wish a private server miiverse would be possible much like riiconnect24 but I guess the massive reverse engineering required would take decades to achieve.

Same here. Another Miiverse would be awesome, but if someone did try to create something, I feel like Nintendo would shut it down :/

In terms of Xenoblade X, and other games for that matter, I really wish they didn't make online achievements/items. There's always going to be that point where it's 100% impossible to get them without hacking.

Our best bet is a Switch release, but sometimes amended features by Nintendo are not the best, look at Wind Waker, they replaced Tingle Tuner with the miiverse bottle, even if miiverse didn't shut down, tingle tuner was so much better, and a missed opportunity for a great Gamepad implementation, just require players to own Pro controller or gamecube controller(gives another reason for players to get the adapter other than smash).

I feel the WiiU had so many misses opportunities it pains me, I love the console and I'm always sad when someone makes fun of how unsuccessful it was.

DLC for eShop version offer quicker loading times, due to console doesn't need to extract it from .cpk archive located in the game folder individually. According to eShop, DLC does offer an increase in the loading times. Therefore, if the game is to be played on the console (not cEmu), installing DLC would be recommended. To avoid "censoring " the game again, here is an extra step you can do after patching the game with uncensored patch only:

1. Get the CPK unpacker software from https://github.com/wmltogether/CriPakTools
2. Extract previously patched chr_pc.cpk
3. Move and replace extracted content to the decrypted DLC folder \content\0019\chr\pc
4. Encrypt the DLC with NUS packer.
5. Enjoy faster loading times!

In the same way the undub part of the patch could be unpacked and transferred to DLC folder.

Hello,
I hope someone will still post and try to answer my question in this old topic

I started playing Xenoblade X (USA version, latest update with DLC) on cemu emulator and played for like 10hrs.

Then I fould out about this undub and uncensor and came to this thread via google.
I grabbed a japan version of this game and used the installer 1.1 from this thread to create the undub version and everything went fine.
I ticked the undub/uncensor boxes in the installer.
I have now an undub version of the game.

But then when I load it in cemu emulator (load my save file), only the undub (japanese voices) seem to work.
The game is still censored for me and I dont know why.
I deleted the game and DLC and installed/started only the undub version (without DLC installed) but still censored (everything else works perfectly fine).

Is it because I had already started the game on USA version with DLC and the save file is remembering it?
This shouldnt be the case as I have read the whole 26 pages of this thread.
Anyone know why this could be?

**UPDATE**
Nevermind got it working.
I think I missed some important windows Features the first time so the installer.exe couldnt work properly.
After installing those windows features I run the exe again, this time it took a bit longer but its undubed and uncensored now :)
