Currently on OFW 9.2.0, also has a working emuMMC in 9.2.0
I backed up the 9.2.0 NAND.

I want to go online and download some demo from eShop on my OFW but it says i need a firmware update.
Sure, I don't mind updating, but can i use my NAND backup to downgrade the firmware in the future?
I know that switch blowes fuses, and if I use the System Update it should also blow fuses when I go from 9.2.0->11.0.1

but I read that using a CFW + Daybreak does not burn fuses. So if I boot Atmosphere on my actual NAND and use Daybreak to update,
does that mean my OFW will become 11.0.1 without burning any fuses?
My first priority is to keep my NAND clean tho, is upgrading firmware this way still considered 'clean'?

If you have a clean NAND, no homebrew, and no backup then you are safe to update via Nintendo server, but you will burn your fuse count to the highest, preventing you to boot if you downgrade to a much lower firmware.

So that means even with my 9.2 backup, i still cant restore the system back to 9.2 right? Just to make sure

You can restore it but there is a chance even with hekate it won't boot, when too many fuses are burnt the system start panicking and refuses to boot.

I don't know why Hayato said that Hekate may not even boot if too many fuses are burnt but Hekate bypasses the fuse check so you can boot any firmware you want no matter how many fuses are burnt provided you boot with Hekate or any other bootloader that bypasses the fuse check.
