Nintendo? High-end technology? :glare: idk...
Well, DLSS is Nvidia's technology, and it doesn't require a lot of power, but it does require the Tensor cores of the RTX 2000/3000 series. Switch is running on the GTX 900 chipset. I'd be very surprised if Nintendo shells out for that kind of upgrade in the middle of a part shortage, or if Nvidia can get DLSS running on older cards/chipsets.

Well they can always create a custom GTX900 chipset that incorporates DLSS, this is what is usually done, or use a custom 970 or 980 based chip, either way it's likely to be a custom chip for Nintendo

They can use a cheap, existing design, and tweak it to their favor,

That's why security on the Xbox 360 actually works, since m$ just took a stock ppc CPU, and added hardware drm features on chip, where you think Nintendo's idea of efuses came from?

It's much cheaper that way, and not have to build a chip from scratch, and all the r&d needed to have a finished product

The GTX900 gen use the maxwell architecture, which is already used in the current Switch.

DLSS require tensor cores, which is used in the architecture Turing (RTX2000) and Ampere (RTX3000)

Reimplement the 980 using the Turing architecture, still would be easier then creating an entirety custom gpu from scratch

That or a stripped down cost reduced rtx2000 or rtx3000

Use a custom video encoder that handles the upscaling separate

I do not care. All I care is that if 3rd party supporting next Nintendo System competition against Sony and Microsoft then I will think about it. I doubt that 3rd party will supports it again. Wait and see.

It's just literally a switch with 4k hardware (ai) upscaling

It's just a new3ds version of the switch

I mean it's not like third-party support halted the moment PS5 and XBSX released. Unity and UE4 are both extremely scalable to low and high end hardware. More importantly, where there's a large customer base, developers will always follow.
