Hey, sorry to pump, Idk if this is still active, I have a question, similar to Nintendont is it possible to emulate other USB controllers to work as classic controllers like the dual shock 4 for example? Since I don’t have a GC USB converter and my sister took my Wii about a year ago (is why I modded the vWii on my WiiU) and while I do have a classic controller it’s not particularly comfortable to hold, plus I always need double AA batteries installed in the wiimote, using a DS4 would be a nice alternative, thanks.
Just a little info:

I use this to recharge my batteries (rechargeable batteries) ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/is-there-a-better-controller-charger-for-the-wii.581845/#post-9346484

they work like a charm.

non-rechargeable batteries, really don't last long:unsure:

Feature request: allow the GUI to be controlled with a Gamecube controller connected via a USB Gamecube controller adapter, such as the popular Mayflash 4-port one.

Nintendont's GUI is compatible with such controller, so maybe some code could be borrowed from Nintendont?

I am not sure if the Mayflash is detected as a USB-HID device, as it has a dipswitch which selects between 'WiiU/Switch' and 'USB', and it must be set to the first one in order to work with Nintendont, which seems to imply it is perhaps being detected by Wii as the official Gamecube adapter, which may not be a USB-HID device (correct me if I'm wrong).

It is really cool to have USB Loader auto launching on boot with Priiloader+forwarder, but the cherry on top would be not having to get out the Wiimote as well B-)

WiiU Pro Controller is compatible with USB Loader GUI btw.

I am not against your request but I think that USBLGX is no longer in that development phase so that people ask for new functions, at most to fix what was not possible at the time.

Unfortunately Wii is already a "dead" system and the entire developer community is not looking at this console. We only have Cyan and Wolf contributing their knowledge if there is a serious failure.

If you look at the roadmap, you will see a lot of incredible functions, however it is very unlikely that they can be realized, mainly because of the general disinterest that there is for Wii.

I hope with all my strength that I am wrong and that one day we will have the "final" version of USBLGX

For me personally Wii feels like a retro console. Well maybe half way between 'dead' and 'retro' :D
I'm new to it though so my perspective is probably a bit warped.
Wii is 15 years old — same age as SNES at Wii's launch date.

I have a couple of quick questions:

With the recent changes on Wimmfi's patcher, the option to patch on-the-fly the games through USB Loader GX no longer works. I've seen there's already a submission to add in the changes, will it be in the next update or will it take longer to implement?

Besides that, I would also like to know if something could be done to disable the Deflicker filter on a general basis. Apparently USB Loader GX tries to remove it when forcing video modes, but I don't see any difference generally.

I used to use a hexadecimal editor to disable game defliker because it's not possible from the loader as you say. You need extract the main.dol from the game, open it with an editor and search 08080A0C0A0808 and 04080C100C0804 (some games don't have this address but in others yes) and replace them for 00001516150000. You have to replace them in all their addresses, it doesn't work with one only.

Hello,

Your report is correct.

what version of GX are you using?

Is your external hard drive formatting FAT32?

Do you have a Y cable for the external hard drive, for better power?

I used to use a hexadecimal editor to disable game defliker because it's not possible from the loader as you say. You need extract the main.dol from the game, open it with an editor and search 08080A0C0A0808 and 04080C100C0804 (some games don't have this address but in others yes) and replace them for 00001516150000. You have to replace them in all their addresses, it doesn't work with one only.

I will try that out. I read there was a way to load the main.dol from the SD Card so I don't need to modify the game itself, do you know what is the process? Because loading "alternate DOL" has several options and I don't know which is the correct one.

Yes, you can load dol from SD, in alternate DOL you have to select "Load DOL from SD".Check the default path for DOL files when you using them. Another important detail, the main dol must be named in the first 6 ID's of the game in question, example:
Zelda Twilight Princess -> RZDE01.dol

Besides that, I would also like to know if something could be done to disable the Deflicker filter on a general basis. Apparently USB Loader GX tries to remove it when forcing video modes, but I don't see any difference generally.

Are you talking about Wii games or Gamecube?

Wii games that happen to use the deflicker filter (GXNtsc480ProgSoft) can't have it disabled globally by USB Loader, but it seems possible to do it by manually patching each game: https://gbatemp.net/threads/possible-to-disable-the-wiis-de-flicker-filter.477163/

Gamecube's deflicker can be disabled by USB Loader's Nintendont settings (progressive patch ON, deflicker OFF, force video mode NTSC 480p). In the vast majority of games I've tested, it works and I can clearly see the difference. However in some games I must choose 'no' in response to the game's 'enable progressive?' prompt, but those are edge cases. If you're still not seeing the difference, maybe your display filters 480p signals to the point where the difference is not so noticeable. A lot of TV's soften and filter 480i signals in my experience.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to borrow any controller code from Nintendont since it's far too different.

Does the adapter work with WiiMC-SS, Snes9x RX or Snes9x GX?
