I currently have emuMMC running atmosphere (100% offline with airplane mode) on my sdcard and when I need to add new homebrew or update atmosphere, I power off, eject the sd card, connect it to my pc and transfer the stuff needed.
I stumble a thread saying that it is not recommended to constantly eject the sdcard as the sdcard slot on the switch is apparently fragile.
What are the best way to transfer stuff to my sdcard without needing to eject it?

using FTP seems to be the easiest way? But I have never connected my emuMMC to wifi fearing getting banned or blacklisted.
is setting up 90dns enough to mitigate these risks?

I always use my usb cord that sends the payload. I used to use nxmtp but it wasn't working on 11.0 (although they may have updated it by now) now I use DBI.

But are you talking about transferring switch games or homebrew files? I use DBI for homebrew files and install games via usb using TinWoo which is a fork of Tinfoil. I never use FTP on Switch.

Your best bet is hekate file transfer (fast & secure). It's useful for big files but also lots of smaller size files which may get stuck or slow on nxmtp or dbi.
It doesn't require taking out the sd card and you do it from rcm menu.
Just restart and press *vol-* before your system boots then go to *tools* (tab), press *usb tools* in the right and finally press *sd card* in the left (while having your usb cable connected to the pc).
Updating atmosphere this way is better than doing it while the system is on.

sorry for the noob question:
I am on emuMMC. Restarting it will automatically reboot me to hetake right?

You can use it to update atmosphere? Just copy paste latest atmosphere on sdcard and reboot hetake and it is good?
Yes, Hekate file transfer is one of the only ways to update Atmosphere without removing the SD card. Atmosphere cannot, and should not, be updated while it's running, or else it's will very likely crash.

I use 2 methods. #1 is always nyx (the hekate menu talked about above, in case you weren't sure) . Don't forget to install the driver for it if you use Windows.

When I can't be bothered with reboots and plugging in cables, I use ftpd on the switch and filezilla on my pc as the client. I know you said you are 100% offline, but in emummc, you can blank out your SN and such, on top of blocking ninty servers, so it really is 100% safe. If you ever feel the need to boot ofw and go online, your SN and everything will be normal on that side (but to be 100% safe, I use a separate, clean microsd card for that). And bonus, the latest Atmosphere has dns mitm, making it even more safe. Seriously, if you could personify Atmosphere, you'd let it walk your kids to school while you sleep in...

thx for all your replies.
I have used hetake to transfer some homebrew and it works fine.
I also added NXMTP and DBI for "non critical" transfers (homebrew, configs, etc...) but I haven't tried them yet.

Tinfoil has one of the best USB services I've tried!
Hekate also allows you to do that.
I've also tried NXMTP but it didn't work well for me.

For me, NXMTP worked very nicely, but only on Windows. I could never get it to work on Linux (have dual boot computer). Hekate works on both, that's why I switched allegiance.

Another vote for Hekate file transfer - the way mine is set up I just hit restart which loads Hekate, transfer the files you need, start emuMMC back up again. The MTP type tools were never very reliable for me.

Being on FAT32 the USB feature in Tinfoil has always been the easiest way of installing games though.

Odd that nobody touched upon this but using either 90DNS or Incognito is sufficient in preventing connections to Nintendo while using FTP. That is their sole purpose in existing after all otherwise they are about as useful as Airplane Mode.
