Right, I understand! Did you stop playing the game, or are you continuing now, with the new save?
I stopped. Maybe definitely, idk, the savegame is still there so maybe I will resume it in the future.

Tbh I would choose another translation from Phantom instead of a complete guide of this game

@stranno Hahaha, I can understand zoning out on the tutorials especially when you're already familiar with the format(!)

Medusa no Inbou was translated by the amazing @EnvyPlays, but it was an Anime Game Translation team project!

@Fel There's a more detailed quest guide here with some images which I found helpful, as far as Google translate goes :rofl2: I did think about making a translated walkthrough but with the sheer number of them and lack of stuff on the Japanese side to base it off, I figured it might not be the best use of time.

They are all optional, and in terms of extra dialogue it's just the "talk" quests, but those I do highly recommend hahaha. They do give you benefits and the letters which you get on starting/completing requests in the guild were actually pretty compelling I thought so I'd still *do* them, but it depends how satisfying you find side quests as to whether to play them in earnest or use the "complete current quest cheat" xD (But don't "complete all quests" early, since that'll bug the cutscenes!)

The character design is just coincidental, but there is an accessory which says that apparently, the winged cloak he wears is actually part of the knight's uniform(!)

@JaNDeRPeiCH Ahh, sounds like fun! Well, I hope you will also enjoy Ore ga! :D

@Pacheko17 Yeah, you wouldn't expect to hear "omae" romantically, would you? Especially if you consider that the speaker, Ren, is just a lowly knight talking about a member of royalty! But that's actually part of how you can see their closeness, although Ren is a bit too cool to talk about feelings (and of course, an "ore" user), he doesn't see any of their status difference and disregards all polite speech. It's something that gets lost in translation a bit, ("I Will Protect You" is the official translation printed on the Japanese title screen), but it's interesting to note!

English has less polite forms of speech, but English speakers aren't really used to stuff like this. You could call the title "I'm Gonna Protect You" which sounds less polite, but it would most definitely get lost on everyone's heads lol, it'd look weird even.

Well, it's just a language thing, being a polyglot I know a lot of these little tidbits about stuff that one language has and another doesn't. Tom Scott has a good and simple video about this.

What I have to say... thanks for the translation.
But one of the choices in the Guild is "Quit Quest" which sounds strange to me. Couldn't it have been "Exit Quest" instead?

@SDA The original text was "依頼取消", literally 'withdraw from quest', which as you can imagine was a little too long(!) Although "exit quest" would not be wrong, in general conversation, 'exit' conjures the image of physically leaving a place, whereas 'quit' can be used to mean 'to give up/ to leave (a job)', which is why it's is preferred here. 'Leave quest' would also be a possible alternative!

There's already a "Leave" option, so okay. Let's leave it like that then.

Thanks for this translation - enjoying this game so far! Liking the Castlevania exploration with the sidequests, and the translation does a good job getting the characters across.

Aaaaand I'm stuck! Has anyone got past the third dungeon boss? (the second one) It seems way too tough, and I can barely hit the damn thing. Do I just need to grind up a fancy new sword?

Playing an 'undiscovered' game like this is like exploring ancient ruins, in that there's nothing on GameFAQs and you're on your own lol. This thread seems to be the only place people are talking about it!

Thank you for your kind words :D

The map on GameFAQs can be very useful, but yes, there's not much information about it avaliable in English, and in fact, the best strategy guide I found for it was in Chinese(!)

The level curve is pretty steep, but as well as a good weapon, acessories for immunity and defence are also handy for building up your stats. Of course, the best materials for crafting are dropped by the bosses, but marking any collection sites where you get useful/rare items on your map can also be a good way to go. (As you find more skill books, your 'site search limit' will increase to 10 times per dungeon visit, making item collection less tedious.)

Please be aware that there is a known bug in the patch which means that the solution to the light switch puzzle in the second dungeon is not green, pink, yellow, blue as shown in the guide, but green, leave as is, multi-colour and blue. We've been unable to determine what's causing it so far, but are working to find a solution!

The light switch puzzle bug in the second dungeon has been fixed, and the patch has been updated to 1.1! The original solution should now work.

It seems the issue was due to an incompatibility with the latest version of ndstool, which was being used to repack the game. Many thanks to everyone who reported the issue!
