I have my 4 main controllers I use for various situations.
Likely my most often used one is my 8BitDo SF30 Pro:
I use it for things like platformers, some twinstick shooters, Tetris, Smash Ultimate, and other such things. I also often use it in Rock Band 3 as a controller for a vocalist, if I have one joining me.
Then there's my Hyperkin Duke:
Which I love to use for non-PVP FPS games, like Halo, Borderlands, 7 Days to Die, and stuff like that. I also often use it for racing games, and personally my favorite application for this large chonker- fighting games. Something about that 6-button pad and nice, soft D-Pad makes it a great Heritage for the Future and Street Fighter controller.
Third, my Switch Pro Controller:
I literally JUST got it yesterday, but it's already felt like quite an upgrade from the joy-cons in the games I previously just used joy-cons for: Fortnite, Spellbreak, and Splatoon 2. I love using gyro aim, even against players on PC, and even over a keyboard and mouse. It gives me this great feeling of precision and speed that I savor dearly. The sticks feel very nice and tight right now, but if they lose that feeling, I'll modify them like I've modified the last controller I'll be showing off here..
My first-party Xbox One controller:
As is probably evident, I've slapped some Control Freak precision stick extender hoozits on there, as for a long while, I used this as my primary input method for Fortnite and Spellbreak. It's a nice controller, for certain, but after switching to Gyro aim, I don't really use it for much other than couch co-op on my Xbox One, or for FPS games on my 360.. but I'm still much sooner to grab my Duke for that.

Kickaaaasss. Two questions, then: How difficult was it to install, and how does the D-Pad feel?
1. Using the screw that came with and tweezers that came with another modification I did, adding metal latches to my joycons, it wasn't as difficult as people made it out to be. To be honest, I found this to be really easy! It does require some patience however and you need to keep in mind that you are going void the warranty once you do this modification. Overall, It easy, the ribbon cables look scary at first but it wasn't a challenge. Keep in mind that this is coming from my point of view. It may have been easy for me, but maybe for others, it isn't.
2. The D-Pad is good, but not great. The "ergonomic" part of the advertised D-Pad works and tilting your thumb around to press directions actually feels natural and official in a way? But this is really just covering the 4 buttons and there isn't a pivot in place so you CAN press all 4 directions together if for some reason you decide to press directly in the middle, which I don't like, but as a D-Pad, it works and I like it more than the Switch Pro's D-Pad. Definitely not the best D-Pad i used though, but it does get the job done.

Ahh, I see. I've taken apart old iPods to replace HDDs, and replaced countless strum bars on Rock Band guitars, so from that description, it doesn't seem nearly as tedious as either of those.
Black xbox one controller modded with some orange case parts, some metal analog sticks and the rumble motors and impulse triggers removed to lighten the controller
Did that give any noticeable improvement in battery life?
Probably isn't. The only part that was really difficult, which isn't even really mandatory, is the battery tray. Taking out the LT/RT piece and mounting it back while aligning with 2 springs was really annoying. But that's if you want the gap between LB/RB and LT/RT black. I don't see this as something you have to do. If I bought the neon blue and red Joycons instead of the gray versions, I would've probably kept it in for a slight accent. Everything else was personally easy to me though, and it sounds easier than replacing HDDs in old iPods lol
I'd rather TSOP flash 30 OG Xboxes than replace one iPod HDD.
Damn, sounds rough. iPods do look annoying to take apart in the first place though

I have a 360 controller i haven't used in a while because i can't be bothered to go buy batteries, and a Dualshock 4, i used to use the 360 for racers and the ds4 for platformers, but lately the ds4 for everything that is not an fps or gta, one day i might import a play and charge kit (locally i could only find generics)

Anyways I use this controller for my switch
The point is to make the controller lighter.
I use a set of custom Switch controllers from Controller Chaos--I love them.
I have a xbox one original controller with modded clear case:
And also have standard black nintendo switch pro controller, but just ordered a clear case replacement to mod it also to match my switch case.
