Since it was on PS3.. It is possible to downgrade it but dont get your hope high. They arent going port it to modern Switch, unfortunately. Too weak, I am sure.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Elder Scrolls V and finished it on PS3. I have it ported to PS4 as well. For Nintendo Switch "Pro"... perhaps but I doubt either.

The switch is easily faster than the ps3. The switch even has a port of skyrim.

Yeah the lack of an official Oblivion port has nothing to do with the Switch lacking power to run the game natively. It is lacking the power to emulate another platform playing it though, meaning that it will never happen without Bethesda getting involved.

Oblivion was meant to come out on PSP back in the day, their are unfinished demos that exist.
If you want a taste you could try those on ppsspp.
Would be cool having it on the switch, still i prefer morrowind & skyrim.
Without mods the leveling system screwed you in oblivion. Too many of the dungeons felt the same aswell. Loved the music though.
I havent looked to modding the switch version of skyrim through homebrew, but beyond skyrim bruma exists(mod). Idk if you can somehow run it on cfw though.

Ah, seems this fire is going a bit cold. Let me add a few LogLinks to it.
-proceeds to fuel the fire-

There have been talks about it in their official forum. And eventually some work did make it upstream if I'm not mistaken. Heck, last year there was yet another update about it. But if I'm not mistaken; the biggest hurdle is the way things were scripted for Oblivion and the other games differ from Morrowind. However, there is some progress being made in that front. Heck, even Skyrim is getting some progress.

Point is; yes, it's technically possible but the project's ain't there yet. If you wanna help them somehow, feel free to do so! I'm a programmer but don't do reverse engineering or anything fancy of that sort; but I also dunno if they're doing any RE either.

If you wanna read a lengthy 43+ pages of chatter regarding this, including some technical bits; feel free to see the post.
