I would say with my words that Sony exclusives put an obscene amount of resources on cut-scenes, that make the gaming experience get close to movie experience, witch put in their hands lots of talented people that can make proper movies for an eventual sony owned netflix like service. People up there on replies already remembered us that crunchyroll was acquired by sony, and even that Sony Pictures has nothing to do with the Playstation brand, they still are in the same umbrella in the big picture, so yeah, makes sense shut down rental/sales to offer subscription based services later.

Yeah video games are trying too hard to emulate Hollywood blockbusters while sacrificing the actual game part of the game. You can watch the latest Hollywood movie for $30 or less or included in the cost of any of the major streaming services. Why people are willing to spend $60 on mostly the same experience is mind-boggling.

I agree. I think the best example of Sony basically giving up in Japan is them changing circle confirm.

Depends on the service, some streaming services are certainly lower quality than others. I would have to rip the files from multiple places to tell you the difference.

Most reliable storage mediums are probably SD cards or Flash Drives.

I thought this already happened? I remember getting a notice from Sony quite awhile ago telling me to download any shows or movies I owned because they were closing down that part of the store.
