Hello everyone. I've been testing 7.02 exploit on my PS4 Phat for a few days and the exploit success rate and stability on my console is much lower than what shown in those videos on youtube (like modded warfare's 7.02 stability test video). So here's my setup:
  • PS4 Phat console (CUH1115A) with 1TB SSD, 7.02 firmware reinstalled in safe mode.
  • Start the console, log in and wait a few minutes before opening browser.
  • Go to exploit site and load hen 2.1.3b (AFAIK all exploit hosts use same web exploit so the exploit host I use shouldn't matter that much, but anyway I use hakkuraifu's host)
  • After around 10-15 out of memory errors, the web exploit will finish and now the fun part starts. Instead of showing the waiting for client and welcome to hen notification, 30% of the time my ps4 will just go black screen and shutdown. 30% of the time it will show the message telling me exploit failed and reboot, 20% of the time hen actually loads but when I try to launch anything my ps4 will shutdown. Only 20% of the time I could get stable hen.
  • Rest mode is partially working, when I finish the exploit and put my console to rest mode it works, but as soon as I launch anything rest mode will stop working, and try to enter rest mode will result in shutdown.
So on average it could take me 30 minutes to run the exploit successfully on my phat console. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or the exploit is just not stable on phat consoles (I found this statement on sleirsgoevy's host but nobody mentions this anywhere else). Could anyone running 7.02 exploit share your experience (ps4 model, web exploit success rate and stability)? Thank you in advance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my 7.02 exploit hosts collection:
  • DarkModder
Recommended, my go-to host now, can launch multiple payloads, has hen 2.1.3b and navigation is smooth, simple layout, success rate might be a bit higher (or just my hallucination)
  • MugiWara
Has updated hen (Hen SP7-U, Hen SP6-U, not sure what the difference is though), Nice interface and with css, but a bit laggy and D pad doesn't work
  • chronoss09
Recommended, has hen 2.1.3b and navigation is smooth, simple layout
  • thewolfgames v700 / thewolfgames v702
Both have hen 2.1.3b and navigation is smooth, not sure the difference between the two
  • Night-King
    Has hen 2.1.3b, simple layout
  • Lesking72
    Hen-vtx (not 2.1.3b by karo)
  • Hakkuraifu
Hen-beta (I suppose it's hen 2.1.3b by karo), used to be my go-to exploit site until the dev went too far with css and background image, the website feels laggy and D pad doesn't work
  • judasexploit
Simple host but doesn't have hen 2.1.3b
  • exploitos
Nice looking, doesn't have hen 2.1.3b
  • metro70
Windows Metro styled host, simple layout, has hen 2.1.3b
  • Al Azif
Well I suppose everyone knows this host, but it doesn't have hen 2.1.3b

I'm not on 7.02, but I do get kernel panics on 5.05 (what I'm on). it is frustrating, and just today, I turned off into rest mode. I'm using these cheap hdmi splitters that sometimes don't switch over whenever I turn something on. there's no way to get at the second switcher, which is what my ps4 is on, so if I can't get video or anything I'll have to forcibly shut down probably. that's happened before. I have an ir receiver to switch channels or hdmi devices but it doesn't always work. I mostly just try new things out with my ps4 rather than play games. it's such a pain in the ass to enjoy the exploit as you obviously know being on 7.02. and, I'm on the golden firmware too.

PS4 7.02 slim that sometimes takes forever to successfully load payload. My phat and Pro usually load exploit in 2-10 attempts for about 1-2 minutes time. Best success I have with this slim is not using any cached site and loading directly to site or from bookmarks. I hope when 7.55 drops its better than this.

Well I have a PS4 Pro on 5.05 and it will stay on that firmware forever. Yeah on 5.05 I get kernel panics too, but it's much more stable (like 1 out of 10 tries I get kp, using ps phwoar and hen 2.1.4). Also rest mode works without any issue, not a single kp so far but sometimes waking up from rest mode will take longer than usual (like one minute). HDMI switch is a pain in the ass for me too ngl, I daisy chained like 4 of them to get 9 in 1 out to my monitor, and to get auto switching working properly I could only switch on one signal source at a time.

This is interesting. But do you get kernel panics like black screen and shutdown? AFAIK web exploit should be the same for all models, but phat model do have less stable kernel exploit and more kp, shutdown and freezes.

Yeah KP all the time on this slim. On my phat or pro less frequent.

I thought 5.05 never had KP, really when I bought mine ps4 slim came with 5.55, for very little I could JB back then, now is on 6.72, and I thought that just for a little one I could have a KP free console, now 6.72 as an average also kp one out of a 10 tries.

I had two kernel panics yesterday, but I think it's because I had something plugged into the left usb port. they say you shouldn't have anything plugged into that port or the chance of a kp is greater. you also have a larger chance of kp if you deploy several payloads in succession or over a given time. I've deployed the ftp payload about 15 times at one time, and the next time I came to my system (it didn't kp), but the system wouldn't turn on with the controller, so I had to use the sensor on the console.

it just kp'd again a little while ago when coming back from rest mode. I did plug that usb flash drive in again. this time I put it into rest mode again, did some reading of a book, then came back powered it on (no issues). I opened tales of zestiria, opened up my legit save, and everything is working correctly. I just closed the game and put it into rest mode again. I seem to get a lot of kernel panics on 5.05 for some reason using an old, phat dragon quest metal slime ps4.

Stands to reason that the Phat consoles are slower to succeed, however optimised Webkit and Kernel payloads can allow for higher success rates.

Try Karo’s iteration, ive heard it’s the most stable for 7.02.

Thanks. That explains a lot.

I always use hen 2.1.3b which should have karo's iteration I suppose?

As for exploit host, although I think it shouldn't matter but anyway here are some hosts I tried:
chronoss09's host : this one has the best success rate for me with hen 2.1.3b
hakkuraifu's host: this one also works, but the main menu is a bit laggy and you can't use d pad to navigate
thewolfgames's host: this one works great and I like its layout
night-king : didn't have any success on this one, got like 10 out of memory errors, rebooted and 10 more out of memory errors, then I gave up.

Another question is that the error message is out of memory when web exploit fails, just like the error message I receive when loading a very complicated webpage on ps4, so I suppose the exploit webpage should be kept as minimal as possible to save memory right? Some exploit hosts use jpeg image as background others just keep it blank, does this affect web exploit success rate?

Thanks, how many tries you have to take before successful JB?
I have notice webkit is a elf program, is not possible to replace webkit from 6.72 to 7.02 pup, since both have Sony keys, I guess issue would be md5 checks and size. Also not possible to overwrite webkit from 7.02 to fully exploitable 6.72 after 7.02 install? This would make 7.02 as fast as 6.72

Update:
After messing around with some more exploit hosts during the weekend, I think I'll stick to hakkuraifu's one, but that background and css has to go, they make my ps4 lagging and unresponsive. So I downloaded the exploit webpage from hakkuraifu's github repo https://github.com/Hakkuraifu/PS4xploit and deleted css and wallpaper. If you want to cache the webpage you'll also need to edit them out in cache manifests. Now I'm hosting the exploit on my router and success rate is acceptable, 10-20 out of memory errors and bam I'm in. Also have to have my fingers crossed when the web exploit finishes and hope hen won't cause kp.

Why don't you use JimMayer appcache?

Randy,

I have extracted only the minimum files to boot hen for 7.02, from JimMayer appcache, you know how to run the host from the pc without cache? See if it works better?

I think it's the same as the online version, which is also hen 2.1.3 and I don't want to have a usb drive connected all the time.
To host the web page on your pc just download any http server like miniweb http server (https://sourceforge.net/projects/miniweb/)
or you can just use the exe file from this repo: https://github.com/thewolfgames/702
