Hi...here's the full scenario.
I usually install games using XeXMenu 1.2 onto my RGH xbox 360 into the folder Hdd1/Games. On installing, they all show up on Aurora after a moment or two, complete with the artwork. Well today, like an idiot, I ripped a game dvd into the ROOT of the GAME folder ( NOT the actual ROOT of the internal drive, but the GAME folder) . No biggie, I deleted the components of that game, and did a reboot.
Now whenever I install a game using XeXmenu , it shows up happily on XeXmenu in the GAMES folder but nowhere to be seen on Aurora. I have looked at all the path settings in Aurora and they seemed absolutely fine. The filter bar is also set to "show all" and no hidden options.
Have I ruined my set up or is there a way of salvaging this?? I am so p****d off at myself, and desperate for a way to fix this.
All help very graciously accepted!

maybe try adding a custom path to the games folder. I don't use aurora, only FSD 2. if you have to purge the database, there's probably an option for it to delete the database, which is something FSD 2 can do as well. I think you'll have to redo your paths though, but I can't remember exactly. I've only dumped games with FSD 2, not xexmenu, so I don't know how that works.

Ok..I *think* I have fixed it. what i did was delete the original path to the GAMES directory and then create a new path to the GAMES directory. Not sure if this will work when I add new stuff but I'll report back incase anyone else in the future has this issue

it's not really recommended to have updating the database set to auto. the reason it may not have worked originally is that you may have too many games. it can take a while then, because it will rescan all games and paths.

the database updater wasn't set to auto. there were only 40 or so games. deleting the old file path and creating a new one has seemed to fix it. thank you!

not sure what could've happened then. I have around 800 games (nearly the entire xbla database from iso before that site shutdown), plus maybe 20 games or less. I keep all my games on an external hdd and just the internal for dlc and title updates and indie games (have 3,400 of them). I should check in xm360 which xbla games I'm missing. a while back I learned how to create a regional database, but it defaults on north america first. I can even do them by country (made one for Pakistan recently and Japan).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I found libreoffice to be better than ms office, which I had hacked, when it comes to the Japanese database, since it can utf16 iirc. I was unable to make changes to the Japanese database in ms office. everything is in Japanese, but I was trying to add furigana iirc. I can do that libreoffice, but I never did so.

even with all those games (xbla games are very small), I still have like 1,300GBs left according to FSD 2. I have about 10GBs left of my 1TB internal hdd.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

indie games are even smaller. those 3,400 games take up only around 80GBs, I believe. microsoft capped the size on them. it's like 50MBs = $1, 100MB - $3, and 150MB - $5 iirc. 150MB is like the largest they can be based on the rules set by microsoft.

edit: that's how the price is set on xbox live, it's based on file size, at least indie games that is. I have to play them through dashlaunch. I'm not sure if aurora can play them by default, but it takes several minutes to play one, because it has to load all of them (all of them are in the same folder but register as dlc with same title id).

yes, you can play indie games through dashlaunch (not sure if there's any other way).
Thanks for reply I am buying a rgh with aurora on all updated, but who I am buying it of says there is no way to play offline without a stealth server? But I have seen other people say it's possible?

you don't need a stealth server. originally, you needed to use fakelive or autofake in dashlaunch's launch.ini, but I don't think that's the case anymore unless you want to play the games on the normal dash. in dashlaunch, it doesn't matter. it's just slow at reading the entirety of the hdd if it's large with lots of content on it. I'm checking right now if I can load an indie game with both of those options disabled, which they are in my launch.ini. I'm on 17599 with dashlaunch version 3.21.

I will ask him I have nearly got full set of Xbla, and just over 2800 indie games, would like to get full sets of both, it's very laggy when booting up it's a 2tb internal harddrive

It's dashlaunch version 3.21 and 17559 same as yours, can you use aurora then and have the covers art work?

I don't know what that is. themes have to be the same version as FSD or you'll get missing sections iirc. I don't use themes at all for that reason. updating covers is now a problem, because I think unity has changed the way they're downloaded, so you may have to use AuroraCrashPatcher.xex. it works for both FSD and Aurora. downloading artwork now was causing FSD to crash (not the system itself), but when it crashes as it's downloading, it will crash again when it reads the corrupted asset when you enter FSD again. use the above to fix that as it fixed it for me.

Thanks for your help, Can you have fsd and aurora on at the same time? And switch between the Two of them?
