Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

I guess this is more of a question about Twilight Menu++, but how difficult would it be to have several of the TwlBG.cxi files in the folder and choose which one to load per game?

I ask because currently I have generated a few different ones so I can play different games with filters and aspect ratios that suit them, but you need to manually copy them and back them up, which means using the PC.

It's not built into Twilight Menu++, but you could try out the Luma version from my signature. It has a feature in the Rosalina menu for switching between TwlBg.cxi files (so it would need to be done before booting into Twilight Menu++).

That sounds perfect too, I just don't want to use the PC every time.

If I understand the post correctly, each TwlBG.cxi can be renamed to what it is (so Widescreen_GPU.cxi, etc.), and when chosen it automatically gets copied with the correct name to the Twilight Menu++ folder?

Yes, pretty much. It renames a custom-named .cxi file to "/luma/sysmodules/TwlBg.cxi" so it will be used when booting into DS/i mode via Twilight Menu++ . However, it's not actually the "Twilight Menu++ folder", because I believe that is only used in older versions of Twilight Menu++ (for an unfortunately unreliable attempt at automatic widescreen).

I didn't know that, but I guess that explains why it's named "widescreen.cxi" in Twilight Menu. I've been copying it to both folders because I thought it was needed, but now I just put it in the Luma folder and the switching is working, so thanks.

Actually, I was specifically requested to put identification data into the patched files, so TWiLightMenu++ could detect which patches are applied, and behave accordingly.

It's still in the research phase though, but if it's possible, then it should aid in this.

If you feel like installing something, you could try CTRX. Or if you don't want to install anything, then you can also just reboot to GodMode9 and use its file explorer.

Thank you Sono for the progress you made with the patch.
Especially with Redshift (something very important to me)

However, this tonality is lost when I close the console and it goes to sleep mode.
Is there a way to re-apply the redshift patch when I reopen the console?

This is a limitation of Nintendo's code, and the free space available. There is no way, sorry.
However, in my homebrew replacement (named "LgyBg" for now) this shouldn't cause an issue.

Ooooh that would be awesome, Do you have a scheduled date to upload that app "LgyBg"?

It's not technically an app but a complete replacement for DS/GBA modes as Nintendo's code is quite messy. Instead of launching Nintendo's buggy DS/GBA Firmwares it would launch a (built from the ground up) replacement.

Nope. I stopped promising release dates when I almost died the first time.

Considering for how long this thread has been dormant in terms of real progress, and how bad the weather has been lately (sunny with no clouds and much wind), it'll most likely take until winter 'till I can release an usable version for GBA.

Although for GBA the only thing I'm missing is really the GPU driver. It currently works now just fine, but there is no scaling due to the missing GPU driver.

Hi @Sono, I loved this patch. I've intalled it on my son's 2DS and it is amazing. On the other hand, I've installed it on my 2DS and unfortunately, it didn't worked. In my 2DS I installed the latest Twilight Menu and after that I unistalled it and installed the same version of my son's 2DS with Twilight 11.2.0 and it didn't worked too. Any hint?

Pretty cool patch, the default Nintendo scaling is not very good. Thank you, Sono!

I have two questions, might be a bit dumb though, but would it be possible to center the screens on DS games at 1:1 resolution?
And are borders (like the Wii U DS VC) feasible? The black background is kind of distracting.

Hi,
Anyone has problem with Pokemon White/Black or White 2/Black 2? After using TWPatcher gives me a white screen. I have twilight menu settings with DS standard, not DSI or DSI forced.
