To tell the truth I don't know if it's legit or not, but since no one has answered you, I wanted to have my say, and ask a question.
Why do you care to know? Isn't the important thing if it has the right kernel/firmware, if it' s up to date and it works well nowadays?

I was having a tough time identifying it for the right kernel, and thought the legitimacy might narrow it down. I ended up getting an Acekard 2i, got a better deal on it. Thanks so much!Hi.
