Should I buy a good component cable or a Wii to HDMI adapter ?

If a component cable, Should I buy a cheap one off eBay or an HD Retrovision one ?

Another question:

Since original GC controllers are quite expensive, what 3rd party GC controllers do you recommend ? or should I stick to original ones ?

The HDMI dongles are alright, but lots of them are cheaply made and some even just convert composite to HDMI. I use third-party component cables and they do a great job for my CRT as well as my flatscreen, but keep in mind that the Wii has a deflickering filter and a softening filter exclusive to 480p that makes the image a little bit blurry even if it's properly scaled.

Any other alternatives ? monoprice ? rocketfish ? cheap ones on Amazon ?

How about the HDMI dongle ?

I don't know if I'd recommend the wii2hdmi dongle. While the image does look less blurry it's also noticeably grainy. And the dongle is prone to breaking, mine stopped working after a couple weeks and I had to get another one, but maybe it was a cheap clone or something.

I owned both.

Component cables didn't worked for me in neither Cry's and Led screens.
On my SONY Trinitron CRT, with Component, picture looked cutted and slanted. So I'm not sure what it was causing that problem (it could've be bad caps on CRT, bad cabke or Wii's incompatibility)

Recently got a WII2HDMI and it looks really nice on a 47" 4K LG TV :yay:
When I hooked my Wii to a Samsung monitor using a HDMI2VGA converter, picture looked nice but stayed at a 4:3 aspect ratio regardless of how I configured my Monitor and Wii.

I'd suggest you to get a WII2HDMI.
