Everspace 2 Early Access - first impressions

Thanks to the power of Kickstarter, the space-faring RPG Everspace is getting a sequel. Currently, the game is in early access, with the full game set for release sometime in 2022. That means Everspace 2 is still a ways off from being fully completed, but since it’s available to the public to play, why don’t we check out how the game is progressing thus far? GBAtemp offers our first impressions on Everspace 2, with gameplay footage and commentary!

I love this game

Im level 16 , and finished what they made of the main story on the 2nd system. But there are still much to do after. It reminds me of wing commander alot. I just wish they would put in more "capital ships" like behemoths, and maybe even have larger ships like wing commander did with different turret setups.

helped alot early in the game to go warp in, bomb first, warp back to a station to re-up, and repeat.
still really enjoying floating around space, finding signals, and distress beacons

Yeah it's a marked improvement over the first game and they've already put way more stuff into it than the first ever had. But there can always be more. They definitely need to up enemy variety especially on the larger end. Those fights are always fun.

I'm pretty optimistic so far if this is what they came out of the gates swinging with. Most of my complaints for the game are pretty minor and easily fixable. I really just want more stuff to see and do, and a lot more interactions per map.
