Hey, so basically i have a problem with my switch where i am missing parts on the sd card reader seat. I dont know how this happened and why it happened, but i have no clue on how to fix it. It looks like its melted maybe, since when i opened the switch it would heat up a lot and that may have caused it, but i still dont know how it happened. Ill post a pic of mine and how its actually supposed to look. ( the second pic is gonna have one with a broken pin, but mine doesnt have that problem)

most of this case caused by misalignment and force to connect the reader.
you need to replace the socket, aliexpress sells it. or MOLEX part# is 5042081610
sorry i took so long to respond, i was kinda busy but how do i replace it?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and do you have a name for the socket? Im just not sure myself about it

oh , i don't read your first msg untill the end , i suposed the pictures are yours.

so a replacement is required then.

is you switch running , sd card is reconized in hekate ?

important thing , in your picture ,the missing/melted part have a metal component ( see the 2nd picture) i would search for this metal part on the switch interior before it's touch some orher circuits.

It wont read the sd card at all, idk how it happened but its missing, and now everytime it opens that exact place gets really hot, so its gotta get changed fully from what i can tell

This is the precise reason, why I switched to a lite.

That dang connector.
I don't care about JC drift, this one however ?
Argh.

Even the 3DS SDCard port was soldered on way better.
LOL yeah thats true, but the only reason to why i got the normal switch is because of the fact that i can use it more on the tv and more ppl can join me while i play so, but problems like these is what makes it annoying sometimes

you can safely remove and solder new one by heating from bottom/another side of board.Or you have a sharp blade tip,you can just melt to remove the broken one and wick off older solder and then solder new socket pin by pin with the proper iron tip
