Homebrew What does Grey (Top Screen) + Red (Bottom Screen) mean?

I'm installing Homebrew on my (Old) 3DS XL...
running 11.14.0-46U (I'm in the United States)...
also I'm very new to this.

(Problem):

Everything Installed correctly (as it said) and I do have boot.3dsx and...
boot.firm at the root of the SD Card I have the payload.bin downloaded and in...
the correct place I just can get past the Grey + Red Screen on my 3DS and...
yes I do have Luma installed.

Can anyone help?

luma already has homebrew within it. you cannot and dont need to install homebrew. use lumas launcher menu.

You can now press (L) + (Down) + (Select) while the system is booted to open the Rosalina menu integrated into Luma3DS. For a full list of Rosalina features, please see the Luma3DS v8.0 Release for opening luma menu,

Section III - Homebrew Launcher
  1. Launch the Download Play application (
    download-play-icon.png
    )
  2. Wait until you see the two buttons
  3. Press (Left Shoulder) + (D-Pad Down) + (Select) at the same time to open the Rosalina menu
  4. Select “Miscellaneous options”
  5. Select “Switch the hb. title to the current app.”
  6. Press (B) to continue
  7. Press (B) to return to the Rosalina main menu
  8. Press (B) to exit the Rosalina menu
  9. Press (Home), then close Download Play
  10. Launch the Download Play application
  11. Your device should load the Homebrew Launcher
and from the guide to launch your homebrew programs.

This is exactly what I needed it worked!
