Melonds is still not running properly for me, and I’m wondering what you did. When I launch a DS game, the audio is distorted and the game is running very slowly.

Did you place the melonds file at the root of the SD? Did you have to modify any Switch settings?
the game is probably just running too slow so there will always be a pause between the frames where there's no audio, hence the crackling. Look at the average frametime, if it's above 1/60s (16.6666…ms) it means that the game is running too slowly. You can try overclocking the processor, otherwise you can also wait for new updates with more optimisations.

I have an issue where I have a black screen for like 60+ seconds before the gui loads, is that normal?

I deleted a .ini file because I thought that it was conflicting with the update but it seems to work fine now.

Tried Release 5.

For
Mario Kart to reach 60fps
On R4 - OC 1785
On R5 - OC 1581

For some reason the performance is better now.

weird that should only happen if melonDS is started over nxlink.

It is always freezed when I browse folders. Any idea?
does it freeze immediately or only when entering a folder with roms in it?

It is not longer there, I do recommend to use sys-clk instead.

That has indeed been my workaround. Just curious since seems that if I OC melonDS, it overclocks everything in the HBMenu. in-app OC is nice so I don't have that issue (e.g., Retroarch, and previous MelonDS).

Thanks.

If you are using the Tesla overlay, you can do temporary overrides, I use them all the time for homebrew.

I do and have been doing. Just a whole bunch of extra clicks and actions every time I switch apps. I think I'm just doing too many things at once. again, nbd.

While I have you, have you noticed any difference b/w Nearest and Nearest smooth edges? I haven't. I've only tried FFIV (polygons).

Is/was there ever a way to use an emulated microphone? I remember there being something involving a button that would trigger a .wav file as a blank mic input, but I can't remember if that was for this or m4xw's citra. Only asking bc I keep dying in balloon battle.. smh

nearest smooth edges was an experiment to get better scaling at non integer ratios. The idea is to perform nearest interpolation around the center of pixels, but to upscale the edges with bilinear filtering.

press down the left stick. It simulates blowing into the microphone.
