just back up to external, your saves. if you're not activated, activate with account activator. then, use it again after you upgrade to get your saves back. no need to use save mounter since it's the same account, so it's very easy.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

do that immediately after you change drives, because there's an issue with using a different account with installing games. if the account is not detected, games will crash. this is just an easier way of doing what you plan to do without having to make a full backup. I don't think trophies are included just like with the ps3, but @Leeful has a trophy backup and restore payload as long as it's the same account and system.

Will start this early tomorrow morning and hopefully it will be plain sailing.

I will update as I go!

Right then,

Started the process early in the morning and it took about 1.5hrs to transfer everything over to ther External drive from the PS4.

Then the updating etc, did not take much time and the Ex to Internal was about another 1rs or so!

Great news was that everything including the exploit tranferred over as well as games and save etc.

Wee man has tested it and all good.

Cheers again to all help and time to think about doing the clean and updating (refreshing) the PS3 and PS2 now!

Oh, I used a WD 1TB 7200 into (data bank) and happy with that, now we know, what to do, when we move to a 4TB (I have them ready to strip out of a old server).
