I had one crash in BIS in like ten hours of play time. It was during a giant bowser scene. Seemed to work really well otherwise.

I know it isn't just me, since in the patch showcase video, other people are reporting multiple crashes as well for the same reason: battle and menu transitions. It's inconsistent since there was a large span of time in my last playthrough where it didn't crash once, but when I booted it up the next day, I got two in a row, without a giant battle.

The strange part is that according to Shay, the guy who discovered the code, he's had no crashes whatsoever when using it. A couple of other people claim to have no crashes at all. And yet I, and several other people using the same methods, the same Luma settings, and the same 3DS version, are getting crashes left and right.

Anyway, I'll test this sometime today and see what happens.

I will look into it and start a new game to see if there is any crashes. Thanks for the code though. The previous code mainly worked wonders on citra, but not the hardware too well.

I tested it out for a bit, started a new game, and a little bit after the first Mibus fight in which you have to lose, the game crashes. I honestly don't know on why this happened, but I can personally say that the exact crash happened after I was fighting my third Chubby Goomba.

Same thing happened to me, at the same location, during my first playthrough with the original code.

Ok, so for me, I'm using CTRPF Plugin and it crashes on Giant Battles using or without using the 60 FPS cheat.

Using Luma 9.0 (plugin loader)
N3DS XL : Sys 11.6.0-39U

Edit : The game won't crash if I don't use the CTRPF Plugin.

I'm not using the CTRPF plugin, or any plugins. I'm just using Luma's built-in cheat engine.

Incidentally, I've tried this with both the basic 10.2.1, and the 3GX Loader Edition. Both have the same result.

My Luma also has a built-in cheat engine but the cheats I want to activate are not staying active. For example : activating max money will max the money of the game but it doesn't freeze the value of it. That's why I don't use it much.

I do use the Luma built-in cheat engine as my main way for using these types of codes. From what I understand, the only programs that you can use cheats for in games are the one mentioned above, The 3GX Loader Edition and the CTRPF Plugin. Is there like any other ways to use the codes in game besides these methods?

+ [60FPS (L+R) v1.2 Less Crashes]
+ [30 FPS (L+UP) v1.2 Less Crashes]

Thanks to @BlazeHeatnix for testing and reports.

We did our best but we still can't find what's causing the crashes...

This code will make it so 30fps is on by default and you'll have to hit L+R to turn on 60 whenever you switch to a new menu, the overworld, battles, or cutscenes. This might seem cumbersome, but it means you can enjoy the game without having to worry about crashes for the most part. It even works with giant battles.

The only exception is the credits. If you don't toggle 30 before the credits, it will crash without fail.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 60 fps (created by Molenin (Zora Eggs)

Instructions ==========

Download my citra my build and extract it: mega nz /file/ZIsFBIIJ#ytoA3lA8ZS3XCf-MZbqctL00jSS0S_TPCUvB2p150-4

If for some reason it does not work then download a fresh build from emucr and replace with my exe files, but keep the other data the same. The ROM I use is: ctr-aqee1.3ds, open it with citra and open cheats menu and make sure it says: 0004000000033500.

Other versions might work but I never tried them. Check your graphics card control panel, some nice tweaks can be done here like quality control, max prerendered frames, frame limit, vsync etc, play around with it. Now we open citra-qt.exe. In citra general settings: 2 emulation speed sliders 200%, use alternative speed unchecked.

In citra system settings: CPU clock speed 100%, you can try higher but it might crash sometimes. In citra graphics panel: Just mess around with it until you get the graphics you want. In citra audio panel: It has to be HLE which is the default I think. In citra controls panel: Map your keys, make sure each one is mapped because we will be using some combinations.

In citra cheat menu: We are going to add 2 new cheats:
60 FPS: DD000000 00000380 28080120 00000001
30 FPS: DD000000 00000340 28080120 00000002

Paste them, you might need to press enter to add a blank line after. Activate both of them when you are on title screen and they should persist between emulator restarts. In game: Unfortunatly the game has many glitches due to the higher framerates, so without having the source code to fix each one manually we can only rely on simply switching the FPS manually: L+R+Down = Slower speed === 60 FPS L+R+Up = Faster speed === 30 FPS

If you see a crawlspace make sure to up the speed before going through or you will softlock. If you want to use a certain item and it behaves weirdly, fasten the speed, use the item and then slow the speed again. You will have to change the speed every time you change a room, but if for some reason you always want to force 60 FPS just use the 60 FPS code without the first line. Use save states OFTEN, who knows what could crash or softlock really, you dont want to lose your progress.

(Note: here's fixes for some of the identical issues on the N64 60 FPS patch, so looking at those may be helpful in fixing some of the small issues here forum pj64 /archive/index.php/t-5217.html )
