How stable is Mesosphere by now, is it recommended to run that option or keep using the non-mesosphere edition ?
That would be for running original carts and not homebrew ...

That's what I've read, I just wanted to see if there was any downside to running it ...

I mean after all it's an open source clone so can it be better than the real thing, possibly would require less on the fly patching maybe ? Don't know ...

There’s a higher chance of abnormal behavior/bugs “I guess”, only like two bugs have been reported since it was initially added as an option in 0.15.0 though. I’ve been using it constantly since even before it was fully implemented and in a release :P

It’s better than Nintendo’s kernel in terms of memory usage (420KiB (lol) vs 404KiB), and doesn’t require any kind of kernel patches, ye

For the general public, it's really no difference. In the end it's much more custom firmware than using the classic.
Plus devs can get more access and toys to play with!

Another thing to mention is that eventually mesosphere will be bundled with Atmosphere by default and it will not be opt-out so one way or another, you will be using mesosphere if you want to use continue using Atmosphere which will be the only option if TX doesn't release an update.

Isn't Meso opt out now? If not I know I'll be using it once I get around to migrating my Mariko to Atmos.

One quick glance at the repo and it was opt-out as of 0.17.0. Goes to show you how much I actually cared about since I didn't even notice its enabled by default. But I still stand by my point that it will eventually be integrated into the CFW without a toggle so might as well get used to it sooner rather than later.
