Hacking Totally Confused about my Firmware, how to go on (Update)

Hey,

I want to use my New 3DS Xl again after i installed Luna3ds Years ago , the problem is I dont know if i installed it on Emunand or whatever. Is there any way to reset my 3DS or simply update it without bricking?

Im currently on Version 11.6.0-39E without any clue what i installed years ago. Is there any Guide to reset my 3ds or just update to the newest CFW ?

Download the latest Luma3DS and put the boot.firm onto the root of your SD card. You can verify the Luma3DS version by holding Select while booting the 3DS.

As far as I can remember if you have emunand your sys version will say emu 11.6.0-39E. Been a while since I used emunand but pretty sure that was the case.

But am i able to update anything then? Im totally confused what i installed atm and idk if i actually installed stuff on sysnand. Dont even know how to get in my Emunand atm. when i press select it says Luma3ds 8.1.1 .

I am really scared of bricking my console atm.

I just says Sys 11.6.0-39E

Did your Step but it still stays at 8.1.1 ... :/ dont know whats wrong

On the Luma3DS config screen, does it say it's loading from B9S SD, or from B9S NAND?

Nothing like that , I pressed select. It only Says Luma3DS v8.1.1 configuration

Is the SD card formatted as FAT32? Does the same thing occur when using a different SD card? Did you delete the old boot.firm before adding the new one?

you may have to update to the latest b9s 1.3. if you update without doing that, no worries. you can still update to that through the menus.

yes its formatted like that, it was always in my new 3ds. I deleted the old boot.firm .

Luma3DS 8.0 is when the requirement for newer B9S versions appeared, so since OP is on 8.1.1, that seems unlikely to be the problem.

I guess i have no emunand but im not sure. Its just extremly long ago i touched my New 3ds XL.

I checked my b9s its 1.3 , just for information. But im Also Able to boot into Luma without SD Card. So it seems like its installed on Sysnand.

I tried to install my boot.firm now with FBI but i cant get access to my CTR Nand :/

With the newest Version of Luma Updater v2.5 i get "Could not optain update details"

As i mentioned im not able to mount my ctr nand with FBI , i dont know why.

Quadruple reformat.

Full Write + Verify the empty card in H2testw. Do not skip.

Please follow these steps to make sure your sd card is good.

In Sysmenu i can load apps from sd without problem. Is it possible to save my emunand?

Seems really like there was something wrong with my format, got it now . And Luma3DS runs from SD Card version 10.2.1.

But how i could run it without SD Card? Do i also have a version on my Nand?

How do i go on now?

Im confused because i was pretty sure i got an Emunand, but my sd card got no other partition.

Section VI - CTRNAND Luma3DS

Power off your device
Launch GodMode9 by holding (Start) during boot
If you are prompted to create an essential files backup, press (A) to do so, then press (A) to continue once it has completed
If you are prompted to fix the RTC date&time, press (A) to do so, then set the date and time, then press (A) to continue
Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
Select “Scripts…”
Select “GM9Megascript”
Select “Scripts from Plailect’s Guide”
Select “Setup Luma3DS to CTRNAND”
When prompted, press (A) to proceed
Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given
Press (A) to continue

this will set up luma to the CTRNand which will allow the console to boot without the sd card in it.

Im still not sure because im sure i updated twice in the past ...

Now i cant get into godmode anymore... :/

Edit: ok managed to update now. So i got the newest Luna.
