probably nothing except Nintendo doesn't see any of that money, so if you hate them, you could buy used. I buy all digital for convenience now. buying digital means you also don't have to pay tax or shipping, and you get full gold coins even if the game is over a year old. retail games over a year old can't be redeemed for gold coins. as a result, I'm always redeeming coins for everything. I've sold almost all of my retail games, some for more than I bought them for like ys viii and hyrule warriors DE.
--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------
also, buying digital means five times the gold coins, so you get $3 off every game if it's $60.
well yeah, i agree with you on that, gonging digital over physical has it's merits, but you need a big sd card for it tho,
i only have a 64gb atm, tho a 128gb isn't that exp nowadays, it's only 30euros,
nut i'd rather buy a game or dlc pack for that money instead,
pyshical is nice for me as i sold all my prevoius games i had to make money for the swicth,
having the boxes in my collection is nice to see and the games don't takeup any space on my sd sinc they are all on carts.
the only time i'd got for anything digital on switch is for dlc or an game that i can't get in a pyiscal from like bloodstained moon 1/2 or megaman zero colletion.
the gold coins you get are more for digital, pyhiscal they are only like 1.50e or 2.00, and if they are like 1 or 2 years old, you don't get any coins?
i mean if i buy the game new, but it is 1 or 2 years old, will i still get the coins it gives you when you redeem it?
I think worst thing in used games is that can they can have multiple owners, i recently bought Octopath Traveler and i find there are some dents on box that was not visiable on photo from the person that i bought from, so i decied i will go with new ones for games i really care about. I really like that feel that im the first person who have particular copy of the game.
yeah, im thinking of getting ocotpath after trying the demo, finding a used switch game and at a slightly lower price than it's retail (even if it is 1/2 years old is rather tricky, and kinda impossble, i have not found any games that i want to fall below their intial price),
well save for FFXII ZA that i got for 31euro recently, but other games like xenblade 2 or tales of vesperia.
save for hyrule warroirs that i got for 50e instead of 60e (it was on sale at the time).
finding used switch games for a lower price than retail is tough, but it's possble.
