Hacking Question Could I get my Switch unbanned by doing this?

Hello people of GBAtemp! I made my account purely for making this post so apologies if I do this wrong. Any who, my switch recently got online banned (only on Splatoon 2) after hacking for 7-8ish months. I decided to brainstorm some ways around it, and thought I’d ask if this might work to get my switch unbanned.

Step one: Use homebrew and download all my game saves to my SD.

Step two: Factory-Reset the console.

Step three: Do all of the “First time setting up” bs again.

Step four: Go into JKSV and restore all my saves again.

Step five: Profit???

It’s perfectly fine if this doesn’t work, at least its only for Splatoon 2 (and it lets me use mods on there without having to worry about getting banned lol) thank you!

No, ban is done on Server side, once you get a ban it is a ban.

Factory resetting the console will not undo the ban. Even restoring a NAND backup from before the ban won't undo it. Nintendo has a unique id for your Switch stored on their servers as banned, there's nothing you can do to unban it.

One theory I have would be using incognito to restore an unbanned Switch's prodinfo to an emunand for use with a banned Switch. I don't think this will work currently though, I think there may be additional steps the CFW would have to do to make this work correctly. Even if it worked, this would result in a Switch that would only be unbanned when running CFW with emunand though, which by itself poses a ban risk. So I'm not sure that there's enough of a point for any homebrew devs to try working on it.

EDIT: Okay, so I did a little research on this and it looks like some people HAVE tried doing this and successfully "unbanned" their Switch. But Nintendo uses more than just prodinfo to uniquely identify a Switch, one example is that the error logs won't match up. Anyway, generally shortly after this they end up getting banned again, which means now both the banned and unbanned Switch are banned. So I would not recommend playing with this.

How on Earth would this unban the console? Are you implying Nintendo implemented an unbanning feature in their console with factory resets? :wacko:

Idk how you could think that noone has ever tried this before, or that nintendo could have had as much success as they have had with an IQ that low

You should do some online research about how consoles are banned & how much success people have had in the past removing those bans.
If you had done, you would realise the question your asking is pretty bonkers.
