I have had another rgh console for years, but I have been wanting to attempt my own for some time. I had a 360 given to me which is a slim trinity and it has just been sitting on a shelf. So I am trying to find out what the current best options are for the hardware to do an rgh. The videos I have watched are somewhat outdated so im curious about current options. I am currently looking at an ace v3 and a nand x programmer/flasher. Is that the best way to go or are there better ones to use?

Any nand reader should do - Nand X works good.

Any glitch chip that supports Trinity should do - Ace v3, Cool Runner 3/D/Any clone, Matrix etc all can be used to achieve instaboot times with right wire length, wire placement and right timing file flashed to the glitch chip. (Acev4 and Acev5 were pretty bad when I tested a few out, stay with the Acev3)

There's various glitch routes you can take - RGH2, SRGH, Muffin etc.

Thank you for letting me know. I had honestly assumed that boot times always varied. The one I currently have can boot within a few seconds upwards of 30 seconds. Im guessing the shorter the wires, the better the times? Im going to go ahead and purchase what I need this weekend and see how it goes. My soldering skills arent too bad, but theyre not great either. On the bright side, if I botch it its a learning experience since you can get 360s so cheap now.

Short wires is good. Timing file is really important, you will most likely have to try a couple. Glitch route matters for boot times. SRGH, Muffin boot fast when setup right. RGH2/Trinity/acev3 route you can get 5-30 second boot on most installs.

Jr programmer and matrix glitcher or x360ace, Imho, should start an rgh service, though I can only do phats and trinities using the jr programmer, I recommend using kynar wire,

Thanks for the info. Probably pick up some of the kynar. If it goes well, there will probably be 3-4 more in the future.

Got everything ordered today. Unfortunately what i wanted was out of stock, so i ended up going jrprogrammer and matrix and also picked up some kynar and flux. Just gotta play the waiting game now. Also ordered a few extras because I wasnt sure if i would need them or not. xclamp removal tool and fiberglass scratch pen. Any recommendations on solder?

Btw you don't need the xclamp tool, only if you're going to repaste
Yeah, it was originally going to be for the ace v3 because of a video i watched that used a solder point underneath the x clamp, but I figured I would get it in case I ever need it later on. Tore down my console yesterday and cleaned it up. Was a real mess inside, but looks brand new now. I didnt realize how small the points were. Highly considering getting a magnifier to assist a little bit. Doesnt look too bad though.

I got everything in today. Got it done, and it seems to be working good. Was a little worried about a few of my solder points that didnt look great on the bottom of the mobo, but seemed to hold up. Added hot glue near it to help out like i saw in a few videos. Took a few hours, but overall it wasnt too hard. I appreciate all the help! I didnt spend a lot of time on the boot times. The longest has been about 15 seconds, and ive had a few insta also.

Glad to hear, and enjoy. Now it's time to grab all those emulators, homebrew, and prob an external HD cause it will fill up fast. Have fun.

Yeah the smallest points are about .05mm or .07 mm, real easy to short something or lift a pad(both can ruin the 360) usually pll_bypass and cpu_rst are the smallest
