Hacking SX OS - How to Update FW?

Hey there,

I have a hackable switch.

Its got SX OS 2.9.5.
Its got OFW 10.0.2.

I installed ChoiDuJourNX (CNX).
I put the FW for 10.4.0 on my SD and started the CNX update process.
(I wanted to take babysteps so did not try 11.0).
I enabled autoRCM and selected the exFAT option.
My SD card is exFAT 256gb.

I got to the point where it asks to restart and I allow it to.
Then it doesnt turn on.

I am able to manually boot into my sx os screen (where you can chose boot cfw or ofw and options etc) but cant boot the OFW or the CFW (sx os).

I was able to restore my emuNAND ok and want to try again.
Any suggestions?
All the tutorials and videos make it seem like a snap.
Should I just do it with DayBreak?

Did you updated your SXOS version before updating the firmware? I had a similiar problem with atmohsphere.

If you only updated the firmware that is the correct behaviour, not booting that you would expect.

Download official 11.0.0 (Do NOT get 11.0.1 yet)
Download SX OS 3.1.0 BETA

Update using Choi or daybreak to 11.0.0, power off.

Update the boot.dat from the newest SX OS files.

Boot. Be happy.

There is no SX OS for 11.0.1 yet and may never be...

Yup.
Ill add that it seems that DayBreak is more reliable than Choi.

So what I did is I got the atmosphere 0.17 package from here: https://github.com/RetroGamer74/RR_RetroReloaded/releases
That whole package with the ini file.
Put that and my sxos license and bootloader (2.95 at the time) onto a clean SD card.

Booted my 10.0.2 system into atmosphere - this was very nice with the RR kit, super smooth.
Then launched Day Break and loaded the 11.0.0 FW.

I restarted and checked the FW and it was OFW11.0.0/Atmosphere something I forget.
Then I did as you described, put the 3.1.0 boot.dat onto my original SD card and wham bam.
Problem solved.

Also, I got a SX OS failed to launch error after the Nintendo splash came on.
That was because I had themes previously.
Temporarily moving the "sxos/titles" folder cleared it up.

Please see the above post.
I did not update my boot.dat until after the FW 11.0.0 was flashed.
The boot.dat isnt relevant for Atmosphere - its just the RCM interface that you need from SX OS at that point.

I updated my firmware to 12.0.2 and my boot.dat to 3.0.1, when I reboot the my switch I kept on being stuck at blackscreen after the SX OS flashed. How do I fix this. HELP.

SX OS only compatibility with 11.0.0-11.0.1. It won't run fw 12.0.02. It won't work.

You have to use Atmosphere instead.

I have accidentally updated to ofw 12.0.2 and am an sx os user, can someone please tell me how to downgrade back to 11.0.0. All I can do now is boot my switch into normal with no access to the sx os album.

Personally I run 10.2.0 and haven't found any need to update to 11.0.0 Some updates I have for games require 12.0.0 or something, so it is pretty much a better idea for me to stay with what I have got. Just kinda sucks that all 3 of my consoles are banned but oh well. Actually the other 2 that I sold were banned as well. :| I dunno how some of you guys luck out and not get banned with a modded system.

Just switch to Atmosphere.
