Maybe I haven't explained well if I put bzimmage and initramfs on pendrive reschue starts? If yes I want to use majaro for example the version without desktop by inserting the file that are in the ISO file on the usb hdd maybe together with the two files I mentioned above can I get it started? I assume that exec start-psxitarch.sh goes to load something already present in the unit I am interested in doing everything from reschue to install a distribution from scratch without being ready

Sorry I'm not an expert let's say I'm trying to learn how to do something now I would like to understand how Linux booting on ps4 works how to do a, distribution from scratch only with the files taken from the official site by putting everything from the terminal and then starting a graphical interface there is a tutorial or some site that explains how to do the commands to execute I want to learn but I don't know how and where to start

Yeah, I am running 6.72. I just have the wrong model PS4. You need a PS4 Slim Belize. I have a PS4 Pro.

edit: try this https://old.reddit.com/r/ps4homebre...linux_on_672_text_tutorial/gf7rp48/?context=3

I would get everything working on a USB stick first before trying it on the internal HDD. This is still very experimental and only works on certain model PS4s and it's easy to make mistakes.

I try even if I put everything in the boot folder then which payload should I use to boot Linux from internal hdd? It starts without inserting anything in usb or first I have to start from usb can someone tell me step by step how can I do? thanks a lot

Does Fedora 32 works for PS4 slim. Fedora 32 is the best linux of all as I was told.

It should yeah. You just need the right bzImage and initramfs.cpio.gz files which work booting Linux for you and https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bwTtP8mzlAp_mDbS1EnaMfpWrZ7gC4HV/view

It installs as per normal.

This is a video I made to show off the differences between other distros and Fedora 32. It's recorded on my phone so it's a pretty low quality production. This install is heavilty customised of course.

The ITmania youtube has links in the description.

It really depends on the model and the firmware. I have a Pro so it needs different files. Try these?

http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=07185757114898875840

If you get a black screen every time, it's probably not the right version of those files. If you need help installing, try this video:

or Modded_Warfare's channel.

I already know those stuff but I just need to know which is which and that's all I need. I thank you for the link. :)

Did it install? Try: exec install-psxitarch.sh

[QUOTE = "bbqtool, post: 9319370, member: 461946"] Sì, sto correndo in 6.72.

[/ QUOTE]
Yes but it's not for Gentoo, only Arch Linux distros and it only works for for PS4 Slim Belize.

There's a tutorial in the rar.
I did not understand well maybe the translator translates it wrong the message in the .rar link also works for 6.72? Then I saw that you posted another link that I had already seen on another forum but the command seems incomplete I try the commands written on the tutorial to limit

If you look on the Interweb you'll find numerous people asking for help on boot and stuck after starting "tlp" (I had to look for it, battery mode for laptop/notebook). In my opinion that's only the last message printed on screen when switching from text mode to graphical mode on the GPU, so without access to a log I would guess broken GPU drivers...

Thank you.
This is working. Even on 7.02.
Now I got a larger ssd and want to move my install from the first USB drive.
Sooo difficult. FUSE sshfs NFS SAMBA, super hard and nothing works.
I can't tell if the target drive needs to be exFAT like the first install drive or it needs
to be ext2 or something. Or 100MB partition exFAT boot loader and ext2 main partition. rsync -Aa blah blah exclude /dev ....
Other than a laptop w/ a linux live cd, has anyone successfully transferred their arch/gentoo/manjaro ps4 linux install to a new drive? Anyone running off the HDD on 7.02 (those internal tutorials all seem to target 5.05).

I think you look at the back or the bottom, near where the power cord goes in. You get the serial # or model # and use a website to find which version you have.

Open the Linux payload successfully (you'll know when the screen goes black and all the text scrolls down) then turn off your router. Let it boot into Linux. Turn on your router. Let it connect to the Internet and then log into Linux. You should now be able to connect permanently.
