Hello. 1111xmas_wink.gif

According to one of my Christmas Presents from my Childhood (a "Hearplay" from an Kasperl Adventrue on Music Cassette):

P1010991.JPG

My Wife and me,we are searching since 2010 for "Childhood Memories".
We got many of them and to very, very, very reasonable Prices.
Often we had very personal E-Mail or Phone Contact with the Seller(s) or collected/picked up the "Memories" personally from them.

One of my "lost" Memories is this awesome Game from ARXON (1975):

JAWS (Der weisse Hai):

s-l160oo0.jpg s-l1600.jpg
Very easy to find (on every EBAY Page US/EU/AT...)

But in which Condition ?
Incomplete and "very used".... but for the "Full" Price ?

I got many such Games from the 70s like "Schiffe versenken" or "Fang die Maus" also classic Games and very, very expensive.
But I "found" very nice Sellers in Austria, and so I got some of my Memories......and not expensive.

Not so for this "Gem"....

How about you ? Did you also "miss" such Game(s) or Memories from your Childhood and seems near impossible to get ?
Thank you for your Stories and Experiences.:)

I figure we have emulation for a reason.

I was however shocked how much N64 games are going for now. I had more or less stopped trading things in by the time the N64 was done and most things then seemed so worthless that it was not even worth dragging them to the shop (note then and now I would pick up heavy building supplies from skips and whatnot and drag those 5 times further if I just wanted something for temporary use).
Into the box in the wardrobe they go.
Some thread around here notes how expensive such things are. They are indeed that expensive.
Today the loose carts sit on my shelf despite me giving my friend the only video out I had for the N64. The boxes sit in a box probably going damp and mouldy.

Similarly the not trading things means I still have a whole bunch of C64 and other "minicomputer" games I would have played, NES games and many other things.

Far too many to mention. But it is insane how expensive lots of my collection (which started in 1978) has become, if you want to replace them.

That’s why, whenever possible, I use flash carts, Gotek, tape emulators and even burning my own ROMs to avoid using my originals. I’d never be able to replace so many of them.

Of course many of them aren’t worth much now, but you never know what will happen in the future. So the bulk of my original tapes, floppies, carts and discs stay safely packed away in boxes.

mega man x3 and 7. I plan to buy them someday for my retron 3 hd, but I don't know when. I've had a lot of bad luck with the retrons, so if this one breaks, I'm going with an official system. I have a framemeister, so I shouldn't have an issue plugging in the device.

I consider Collectable Cards as a Game, and old brands like Panini would agree with me, but feel free to interpret for yourself.

I collected the original line of Garbage Pail Kids Cards as a child; I think the stick of gum that came with it is responsible for my bite strength.

Nowadays, they cost a bit more, as with most Collectable Cards, though it's still surprising seeing they were a gag aimed at a failed Cabbage Patch Kids deal. Some of the Internet even claim the original Adam Bomb Card, which I have but buried in a childhood Time Capsule with friends, can fetch USD 4K.

Who knows.

Pretty much all the stuff from my childhood is totally possible to get...but IMO most of them are overpriced as well, and I just don't think it's worth spending a huge chunk of change on some random old game to stroke my nostalgia boner with when I can just as easily emulate it/use flashcarts/buy repros. I like owning physical copies of my favorite games and all, but there's no way I'm gonna spend $100 on Conker's Bad Fur Day or $60-$100 on a legit FF3 SNES cart and other such nonsense.

A game I grew up and it's expensive now? I'd guess Klonoa (PS1/Wii), but even that is a stretch.

Something I'm more attached to are the Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Box Z DVD set.

(Not my picture although it's a really nice looking photo and well presented)

I've decided I'm just going to sell all my Dragon Ball media, anime DVDs that have value, any games and so on. I'm just tired of having it and as long as I have it it feels a weigh in my back.

Conker's Xbox version has always had a bad rep though I think it's a really good remaster (if I may call it that, than a remake).

Why hasn't Microsoft re-remastered the game in HD?! It deserves so much and gamers are starvin' for a new Conker game so give 'em something (not like that Xbox 360 tease that ended up being nothing I'm sure someone remembers).

Turrican II for the Amiga 500, played a lot that game back in the day.
It's the best 16bit version of that game, so now day's it's very hard to get.
That's why I upgrade my Amiga 500 with a gotek floppy drive emulator ;)
