afaik .z64 roms dont work as well as the .n64 roms in this emulator. Sometimes for games that work flawlessly in .n64 just crash in .z64

Wasn't z64 the only way to boot up a rom on vanilla 0.2? I had to convert all my backup roms to z64 because of it. I'm confused. Did not start DX64 in months. However that would kinda explain a lot of freezes lately I have?!

FYI rom region definitely impacts results for some games. Simple example is Wave Race 64. NTSC runs full speed with perfect graphics. PAL runs full speed with the bottom fourth of the screen clipped off and with graphical issues with the HUD. Another example is Doom 64. NTSC runs full speed with perfect sound. PAL runs full speed with cracklings music. On the flip side Is Banjo Kazooie. NTSC hangs during intro. PAL proceeds to game play.

With NTSC Banjo, when the intro hangs, wait a few seconds and it'll continue gameplay.
Edit: Sometimes it'll continue gameplay. Sometimes it just sticks.

I'm trying to compile the code from GitHub but it gives me this error:
Code:
/home/devkitpro/DaedalusX64-3DS/Source/SysCTR/UI/UserInterface.h:3:10: fatal error: imgui.h: No such file or directory
    3 | #include <imgui.h>
      | ^~~~~~~~~
compilation terminated.
make[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/daedalus.dir/build.make:1498: CMakeFiles/daedalus.dir/SysCTR/UI/UserInterface.cpp.obj] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/Makefile2:134: CMakeFiles/daedalus.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [Makefile:84: all] Error 2
And I attempted to compile it with this script from page 3 of this thread
Code:
cmake -DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=../Tools/3dstoolchain.cmake -DCTR_RELEASE=1 ../Source
make
It seems to be a ImGui library for the 3DS but I don't know how to install it. If I'm missing out on anything else let me know.
I'm running Ubuntu LTS 20.04 through WSL by the way.

I have been waiting for an N64 emulator all my life, but there is an issue, every time I open Majora's Mask 64, it loads well, but when i try to make a new save, it completely freezes. I was wondering if you were working on this.

Have in account that this emulator is still on development (beta phases and no official release yet), and because of that, compatibility with N64 games can be still lower.

On the other hand, the performance is better if you have a NEW console model despite the OLD ones.

Sounds more like an issue with the emulator.

I know that you asked him. For me, it’s a nostalgia factor. The port is really an excellent one. But there’s a charm to the original, especially if you were around when it first hit. It was a genre defining moment. So it’s great to feel that again.

So the 3DS version has updated models and such i assume from what you two said. I can see the appeal of the original blocky models over "improved" ones. As long as mechanics aren't changed as a first time player i think i could go for the remake. Been saving those for the holidays hence my question

The OoT remake is great afaik, I don't think it made any gameplay changes or anything that make it inferior to the N64 version. The MM remake is the main one to avoid, it messed up a ton of stuff like zora swimming so it's a lot better to play the original if possible.
