Are you interested in a complete replacement of TwlBg which includes all patches?

What is it that people like about the widescreen apart from it filling the top screen?

I tried it out and found it just looked off, especially on games that are using both screens with something passing through like say Arkanoid and even in other games it didn't look as good as the regular display.

For 3D games, you can use a cheat code to render a wider field of view (models squashed horizontally - taking up fewer pixels so being lower quality - into the DS's 256x192 resolution, then stretched back to the correct ratio by the file created by the patcher).

For games that don't have a field of view code identified, and any 2D games, yes, the picture will be stretched and it will look wrong (c.f. the GBA's 1.5x widescreen mode for GB[C] games).

And it won't look as pretty as the regular aspect-ratio scaling modes, because expanding 256 pixels to 384 required deactivating the improved scaling for the x-axis.

Don't install it. If you look at the patching log, it says that it's using more than 100% the memory, so it crashes when you try to load it.

Is there any way to add this feature to TwilightMenu++?
  • Adjust brightness of top and bottom screens independently
https://gbatemp.net/download/luma-10-2-1-with-redshift-and-twlbg-switcher.35619/

It is present in this luma build. I use it to lower the brightness of my bottom screen a bit, because my top screen temperature is quite different from the bottom one, so it helps making the screens more even.

Is there any way to implement this with DS games on a 3DS?

I also want this ...

TWPatcher is great and DS games on 3DS have really become fun.

I'm sorry for my bad English.
Thank you!

Sorry for the long wait, but I have my "hands tied", so I couldn't work on anything personal.

Because mode800 requires additional work, I have removed it from the code, and I have to start again. Because of this, GPU + widescreen finally work together again!
And to add to the surprise of this build, I included a HUGE performance boost for the UI, so it's WAAAAAY snappier, even on old3DS :D

This is also FINALLY a stable build, so no more screwing around with unstable junk :P

Updated link is in the first post :)

It's actually really difficult in legacy mode, because brightness adjustment works much different from 3DS mode. Sorry.
