Naughty Dog is promoting Neil Druckmann to co-president of the company

d20170306_01_ND_Default_Blog_Post_01.jpg

After serving as the vice-president to the home of The Last of Us and Uncharted for three years, Naughty Dog has just promoted Neil Druckmann, known for his work on both aforementioned games, to co-president of the company alongside Evan Wells. Druckmann isn't the only one rising the ranks either--Naughty Dog's director of operations, Alison Mori, and programming director, Christian Gyrling, have been promoted to co-vice presidency. Druckmann has been with Naughty Dog since 2004, where his first project was assisting in programming Jak 3, and his most recent project will be his work on the HBO The Last of Us TV adaptation.

We have such an incredible team at Naughty Dog and being able to work alongside each and every one of them is especially meaningful these days. I feel proud of the team when I’m able to recognize their accomplishments and contributions to the studio. Please join me in giving them all a big congratulations!

I didn't give a shit about the somewhat focus on sexuality in the game (btw, I thought Lev was a girl up until I read some comments in here).

You porbably missed optional conversation bewtween her and Abby.

Lev was a girl, forced into marriage with a village elder. She wanted to be a warrior like her sister. however, being a woman in her tribe, she could not choose, so she decided to shave her hair, like the men, change to a male name. It is not clear if she sees herlsef as a man or if she only wants to pass as a man not to be forced into doing what people want woman to do.

Gotta love how people somehow brought their hate of gays into this

Welcome to post-2016. People were complaining about the political climate making the game "political", but funny how there was no outcry on the 3 gay characters in the first game. The political climate didn't inject gayness into the game, simply made it so that people thought it was ok for attacking it for having gay characters. It's frankly sad.

Well that explains it. I googled and found a LoU2 wiki that stated she was a male but I should have remembered that dialog.

Neil Drunkman... new game guys! Some trans man getting pregnant and then (while pregnant) having sex with Neil Drunkman NPC character. I just thought of the most disgusting thing I could ever imagine, because that is probably what they are going to "create" next.

You can contribute with more disgusting ideas, I mean "sequels".

No one ever said gay people were scary. No one has been 'phobic' of gay people, either.

I present concisely why I didn't like TLoU2 here.

Ellie is gay because the writers want her to be.
Lev is transgender because the writers want him to be.
Dina is a bisexual Jew because the writers want her to be.
Abby is, "yoked as fuck" because the writers want her to be.

'None of these characters are believable; they are part of an agenda to degrade straight men." - I don't know dude, it seems like you're scared of gay people, "degrading straight men" or whatever the fuck you're on about.

Why does every Naughty Dog thread turn into “gay people are scary”

Ellie is gay because the writers want her to be.
Lev is transgender because the writers want him to be.
Dina is a bisexual Jew because the writers want her to be.
Abby is, "yoked as fuck" because the writers want her to be.

Maybe they're afraid to end up like Jozsef Szajer that fought an anti-gay agenda for years and just recently was found on an all-men orgy. Or like any of these people.
I'm afraid drinking orange juice doesn't make any of those people gay, they were born that way and repress it afterwards.
Maybe they don't feel secure of their own sexuality and need constant straight role models validation, who knows?

I'm straight and pretty confident of my sexuality. Playing as a gay female character or interacting and even befriending gay people don't make me less of a man or straight. Also doesn't make any of my friends less of a man or a woman for beeing gay or bi or whatever.

I'd argue what'd make one less of a man or a women is scapegoating their inner insecurities or hate or whatever to a minority, that's weak and coward.

I addressed this in the first sentence of the same post.

I'm gonna say it only one more time: No one has expressed hatred for gays.

Dunno about hatred, but bigotry for sure, from your "they are part of an agenda to degrade straight men" for just being there to "Homosexuality isn't a timeless nor universal theme; it's natural but not the norm, i.e. normal." and therefore shouldn't be represented in media.

The only chatacter i dont find believeable are Abby's muscles. Having gains like that is just not nossible with rationed food during a zombie apocalypse. But thats like the smallest issue with the game, they obviously made her jacked so she'd have different gameplay from Ellie.

The entire backlash is dumb. The first game doesn't have any less "woke propaganda" than this one. If you want to critisize the game, critisize it's bad writing. Don't pretend that the problems with the game is just politics and "the woke SJWs ruining media". People wanted to hate this game since day one.
