Hardware Nintendo Switch stuck at Nintendo Logo, charging 0.2A, short backside CPU

Hi guys.

I have a Nintendo Switch to repair.

Switch is showing the "Nintendo" Logo and then turns off.
Charging is at 0.2A and the Switch is not showing the Charging icon(because it's not fast charging I guess).
I already changed the chip beginning with M9xxx next to the CPU on the right.

On the backside of the CPU I found one short:

What could cause this short?

Hey there, sorry for the late reply. The GPU and RAM have many low voltage rails which may seem short when using a simple continuity test as their resistance to ground is very low. That's not to say GPU shorts don't happen, you just need to confirm it's a true 0 ohm short. Does the device stay pulling 0.2a or restart repeatedly? Getting the Nintendo logo seems to indicate the device is capable of starting basic firmware and commanding most of the board to operate. This would indicate GPU, RAM and the relevant PMICs aren't to blame. What this means is we can likely blame firmware. In this case we look to the eMMC. Does the device enter RCM? If so and it's an HAC-CPU-10 try to inject a payload and see what happens. I personally have more hardware experience, and have never changed eMMCs to see what happens, but you may go that route if somehow yours has failed. Possibly corrupt firmware or failed prior mod?

If it's stuck at the "Nintendo Screen" Check the WiFI chip.... If this is a version 1 Switch.... they are notorious for the WiFi chip becoming unseated from the board. Tape off all other areas surrounding the wifi chip, and the chip some heat around 400C for a while. If the Nintendo switch can't communicate with the WiFi chip properly during boot, it locks it up at the "Nintendo" screen.

The heat trick may only "temporarily" resolve the problem for a few days, and you may ultimately need to reball the chip, or buy a new one and replace. Wifi chips can be found for $6 reballed already.

Upon reading this I decided to search again for a reballing stencil for these wifi ICs since I have so many donor boards. I found one for every IC aside from GPU which I already have. Thanks for the advice!!
