I wouldn't say that as I think Fastboot3DS is much better than boot9strap though to be fair fastboot is just a different implementation of the same underlying mod.

fastboot3ds is a complete replacement of the 3ds 2nd stage bootloader, firm0, ( booted after bootrom)

b9s is a bootrom exploit, that allows us to effectively fake sign code

ntrboot is an undocumented feature of the 3ds, used by Nintendo to more than likely to install OFW to factory units, and for repairing systems sent to them, b9s and ntrboot were discovered after the 3ds bootrom was dumped

Whichever color it comes in, that T-FLASH adapter is a piece of junk. If your computer does not have a built-in SD reader, get a better (micro)SD-to-USB reader like one of these.
Thank for replying. I understansd the card reader is poor. I mean does the color reflect that the flashcart might not be from an original source (repacked)?

If you say so, you shouldn't close the lid of your 3DS either. That is the same principle. The speaker is also a magnet and sends the 3DS to standby. In simple terms of course.
I don't want to take the risk

using magnets are safe, 3ds doesn't use crts or magnetic storage....its all solid state, its not gonna affect it other than putting it in sleep mode, there is a magnetic sensor, under the b button, this is where the speaker is located when the unit is closed to activate sleep mode

The speaker magnet is both fairly weak and already solidly attached to the top part where the screen is which means it is not possible for it to damage the screen by being attracted to the metal back plate where the screen is. That is not the case if you use a very strong magnet, like one of the rare earth ones, instead of something like a weak refrigerator magnet.

ive used neodymium magnets, the small ones though, if the magnet is that strong it should just work just placed in close enough proximity, though in the end you only need the magnet for like less than 5 seconds once everything is set up

You don't close your 3ds?

I think I'm allowed to chose which method that suits me? Besides, @TurdPooCharger has already stated there is a risk of using magnet if done wrong, and I know I'm not good at hardmod (or semi-hard mod if you'd say) so I'll chose the safest way for me; can't afford to break a new console! Especially when it's so rare to find a new one nowadays.

Vice versa, if someone is good with magnets they should be allowed to use ntrboot instead of Seedminer.

And yes, I do close my N3DSXL lid.

Thanks for explaining.

just find a cheap refrigerator magnet, not the flexible ones, you have to put it near b and start on n3dsxl, it will go into sleep mode, tbh the risk of you actually breaking your 3ds are 0 percent,

a magnet like this will do damage

these are perfect for ntr boot

and have no chance of damage

and for seed miner you still need to have a exploitable dsi ware/eshop game installed iirc, i still have my patched version of Sudoku installed, had to buy it from the eshop for like 3usd, but if you have a decent gpu, it shouldn't take long, i did seedminer on my n3dsxl and brute forced with my r9 fury in 30-45 seconds

Completely random warning: NEVER EDIT THE FIRM0 PARTITION UNLESS YOU HAVE AN NTRBOOT FLASHCARD AND HAVE CONFIRMED IT WORKS!!! Note: ntrboot takes advantage of the bootrom (ROM = Read Only Memory, so no software modification can break ntrboot), so it can fix any brick that a hardmod can fix.

What exactly are you trying to point out? This has been known information for years about how ntrboot works.

There's a way to do ntrboot method without using an external magnet. Take folded paper, wedge them above the (X) and (START)+(SELECT) buttons, and close the n3DSXL lid. The clam shell should press down on the paper while it holds the button combo. The right speaker can be used to trigger sleep mode. After 7-10 seconds turning on and holding down the (POWER) button, flip open the lid.

EDIT - The buttons can be pressed with (1) microSD and (1) standard SD.

On a side note I have never been able to flash ntrboot firmware using the DS Homebrew app. It always bricks the cart. I've only ever had success using the B9S Firm app that flashes the ntrboot firmware onto the flash cart (the one that starts when you turn your 3DS on).

For the GBA ones, have fun finding a MiniSD or a microSD to MiniSD adapter (Never found one that worked) for a reasonable price.
The one listing says MiniSD 128MB to 128GB. I don't think MiniSD cards go larger than 2GB.
