Welcome, December, and welcome, new Nintendo Switch firmware update. We have officially reached firmware version 11.0.0, and it brings with it more than just stability. Firstly, you now get a Nintendo Switch Online icon added to your home menu, which allows quick access to anything NSO related. The album has also been improved, as you can transfer screenshots directly from your Switch to a smartphone. As of this update, users will also be able to prioritize which games they wish to have downloaded first, when downloading multiple games at once. For those concerned over homebrew access, for now, it’s advised to not update to 11.0.0 until a new version of Atmosphere is released.

A new feature that automatically downloads backed up save data was added to the Save Data Cloud.

  • When using software with the same Nintendo Account linked to multiple systems, save data backed up from one console will automatically be downloaded to your other system(s).
*To use this feature, it must be enabled under System Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud.
*Save data will not be downloaded automatically unless save data for that software exists on the console. The first time only, users must download the save data manually.
*A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the Save Data Cloud service.
A new Trending feature was added to the User Page.

  • Users can check what software their friends are playing or have started playing recently.
Information will not be displayed for friends who have their online status set to display to no one.
Users can now transfer screenshots and videos from Album to their smart devices.

  • Users can wirelessly connect their smart devices to Nintendo Switch to transfer the screenshots and videos saved within their Album.
  • For screenshots, users can transfer a maximum of 10 screenshots and 1 video capture at once.
*To connect, users must use their smart device to scan the QR Code displayed on the Nintendo Switch screen.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
*“QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
A new Copy to a Computer via USB Connection feature was added under System Settings > Data Management > Manage Screenshots and Videos.

  • Users can use a USB cable to connect Nintendo Switch to their computers to copy the screenshots and videos saved under Album.
    * A USB charging cable [model HAC-010] or a USB-IF certified USB cable that supports data transfer is required to connect to a computer.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
    * Connection via the Nintendo Switch dock is not supported. Please connect the Nintendo Switch system directly to the computer.
Users can now select what download to prioritize when there are multiple downloads in progress.

  • When there are multiple software, update data, or downloadable content downloads in progress, users can now select which they want to download first.
  • You can set this under Download Options by selecting the icon for the software you want to download first on the HOME Menu.
User icons were added.

  • 12 user icons that commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series were added.
Users can now name preset button mappings with the Change Button Mapping feature.

Brazilian Portuguese was added as a supported language.

  • When users set their region to the Americas and their language to Português, the language used on the HOME Menu and in certain software will be displayed in Brazilian Portuguese.
Several issues were fixed, and usability and stability were improved.

About to try 11.0 SYS / 11.0 EMU on SX OS. Guess we need a new Auto Loader.

Switch lite everything on 11.0 and booting smoothly. Gonna see if any crashes going in and out of apps / games like atmos 16.

I meant the entire situation as a whole, which started with the legal troubles/arrests. prior to that, they were regularly releasing updates. 3.0.5 came out only like a day after 10.2. Ever since the page has basically gone silent, and there is ZERO "official" updates. Also, the legal issues clearly led to the lack of funds.

I guess I was either partially wrong here or Max is still paying the developer regardless of which country he's in :)

All in all we are lucky and should be super grateful.

The only thing that still needs updating for me is sx installer it's currently 3.02 however it's not compatible like the latest tinfoil and comes up with numerous errors once that's been updated i think there shouldn't be too many issues with sxos on the latest firmware

None of my games need a newer firmware anyway.

Atmos is currently - If you update then apps will need to be updated. Games won't require 11.0 for a little bit. Personally only need PFBA and Retroarch updated since Tinfoil already got 11.0 support.

i have an erista switch with the sx core and decided to update my emunand to 11.0.0 with choi-nx. everything went smooth and the update installed but when i rebooted, the switch threw an error from the sxos forcing a reboot loop after the joycon logo. come to find out i had to delete my custom theme folders as i had a custom theme active during the update and the NSO logo was making the system crash due to the different homescreen extracted from the previous fw for the theme installer. after deleting the custom theme folders and updating to the newest release of nxthemes, i re-extracted the homescreen and installed the theme again. all is well.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

so disable any custom themes before updating......

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

...and update to the newest verion of nx-themes if you want to use custom themes on 11.0.0

Has anyone else had issues with OFW 11.0 and 3rd party docks? Many of you may not use them but I’ve had one since OFW 4.X.X and it even had an update for 5.0 etc. It’s discontinued so I gather no more updates for it but after OFW 11.0 it no longer works but my official Dock still works just fine. My friend has one as well, same as mine, and he hasn’t updated and I tested his and it doesn’t work on OFW 11.0. Just curious to see if Nintendo is purposefully doing this or a one off issue with MY 3rd party dock. It’s a portable dock by JYS. It’s just a dongle with all the ports. So those of you who use 3rd party docks, have updated to OFW 11.0, I’d like to know if it still works. Thanks.

I just grabbed SX OS 3.1.0 and updated to 11.0.0 via ChoiDujour. When I rebooted, it loaded the SX OS logo, then crashed. I've got nothing now. Won't boot at all. Can anyone point me in a direction for some help?
UPDATE: waited about 40 minutes. Now it's deciding to boot. Not sure what happened there.

10.2 was worse with this. 11.0 still has this, happens less frequent.
