So who's playing the hopelessly OP Mary Sue female lead that'll leave him gathering dust in the background?

Spare a thought for poor Oscar, he's not a bad actor. He did what he could to give Poe some charm, but he was beaten down by the corporate agenda and never given room to breathe in the Star Wars movies. Same problem as the prequels; bad direction. You really think the dry performance of Mace Windu was Samuel L Jackson's fault? We know he's better than that.

tbh I would prefer it to be a CGI movie in the style of Yoji Shinkawa, with David Hayter voicing Snake. The same director (Vogt-Roberts) is contemplating that route but for a series rather than a movie. So maybe we'll get that eventually after the live-action movie gets made.
