Welcome, December, and welcome, new Nintendo Switch firmware update. We have officially reached firmware version 11.0.0, and it brings with it more than just stability. Firstly, you now get a Nintendo Switch Online icon added to your home menu, which allows quick access to anything NSO related. The album has also been improved, as you can transfer screenshots directly from your Switch to a smartphone. As of this update, users will also be able to prioritize which games they wish to have downloaded first, when downloading multiple games at once. For those concerned over homebrew access, for now, it’s advised to not update to 11.0.0 until a new version of Atmosphere is released.

A new feature that automatically downloads backed up save data was added to the Save Data Cloud.

  • When using software with the same Nintendo Account linked to multiple systems, save data backed up from one console will automatically be downloaded to your other system(s).
*To use this feature, it must be enabled under System Settings > Data Management > Save Data Cloud.
*Save data will not be downloaded automatically unless save data for that software exists on the console. The first time only, users must download the save data manually.
*A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use the Save Data Cloud service.
A new Trending feature was added to the User Page.

  • Users can check what software their friends are playing or have started playing recently.
Information will not be displayed for friends who have their online status set to display to no one.
Users can now transfer screenshots and videos from Album to their smart devices.

  • Users can wirelessly connect their smart devices to Nintendo Switch to transfer the screenshots and videos saved within their Album.
  • For screenshots, users can transfer a maximum of 10 screenshots and 1 video capture at once.
*To connect, users must use their smart device to scan the QR Code displayed on the Nintendo Switch screen.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
*“QR Code” is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
A new Copy to a Computer via USB Connection feature was added under System Settings > Data Management > Manage Screenshots and Videos.

  • Users can use a USB cable to connect Nintendo Switch to their computers to copy the screenshots and videos saved under Album.
    * A USB charging cable [model HAC-010] or a USB-IF certified USB cable that supports data transfer is required to connect to a computer.
For more information, please refer to the Nintendo Support website.
    * Connection via the Nintendo Switch dock is not supported. Please connect the Nintendo Switch system directly to the computer.
Users can now select what download to prioritize when there are multiple downloads in progress.

  • When there are multiple software, update data, or downloadable content downloads in progress, users can now select which they want to download first.
  • You can set this under Download Options by selecting the icon for the software you want to download first on the HOME Menu.
User icons were added.

  • 12 user icons that commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series were added.
Users can now name preset button mappings with the Change Button Mapping feature.

Brazilian Portuguese was added as a supported language.

  • When users set their region to the Americas and their language to Português, the language used on the HOME Menu and in certain software will be displayed in Brazilian Portuguese.
Several issues were fixed, and usability and stability were improved.

his cfw was specifically designed to hurt developers

FFS man, get your head out of your ass. That's just plain exaggeration. No wonder we have a society like this.

They made a CFW, asked money for it. People who wants to buy it, does just that; people that don`t want to buy it, don't buy it. That's it.

But to reach the point to say that the CFW was specifically designed to hurt developers? What the hell. This hate on SX is just shit. You don't like them? Don't buy their product, use atmos or whatever suits you, but stop throwing shit. And viceversa. I really am fed up with this "war" of CFWs. Just plain garbage.

In the end, we regular users are the ones who decide what to do and enjoy the benefits. Live and let die, FFS.

So I can just downgrade to 10.2.0 and use sighpatch for that update? So it's possible to downgrade from 11.0.0?

And what about atmos they do exactly the same just without a few files
If you blame atmosphere how long before you blame the air we breath for providing oxygen to the pirates? Nintendo provided most of the files? You want to blame them too?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If anything its better to update because of game firmware requirements
CFW is at a very good state already.
It seems new update for Hekate have finally released and shall I wait for official release of Atmosphere or can I use prerelease one?
sigpatches still missing no?

Anyone know if HOS 11 can downgraded back to 10.2 safely? If you can run atmosphere I suppose the tools will run and daybreak can be use for downgrade? @PikachuPrincess23 make a backup of your nand if you are going to try this. Prerelease means quality not yet proven. Normally there are bugs here and there that get discovered and fixed thanks to the courageous people that use prereleases.

Although I get your point and I won't hate anyone who uses SX OS, it's just common sense that the cfw was designed specifically for piracy, and that hurts indie developers (AAA, not so much, but it still kinda do), and it just becomes worse when they ask you for your money to get the tools for piracy
If it wasn't an exaggeration, Nintendo would have targeted Atmosphere instead of only going after Team Xecuter, which is also considerably harder to take down
Another point: This is not "CFW Wars", SX OS is objectively dead, there're no updates, their leader is being judged under US court (and most likely be imprisoned for a long time), the only thing I'm saying are facts, and if you don't want to accept them, that's your problem, that's why I stopped arguing with the other guy

Your point is valid and I can see why would you be tired of "CFW wars", but I literally never said "use atmosphere", and if "sx os is designed to hurt developers" isn't true, then tell me: why is team xecuter leader under trial?

Atmosphere is fun for many people without piracy. I have no doubt they are the minority of the total user base and I have also no doubt Atmosphere is made because this minority exist.

They are under trial for money laundering mostly. They aren't in trouble for making the hardware, they are in trouble for how they handled the money earned from said hardware. One example is falsely labeling flash cards as 'SD Card adapters' worth .20 cents. This isn't exclusive to just TX, ever bought anything off eBay or Amazon and had the item come from China? Well they also did the same type of false declaration on whatever it was you bought in order to not have to pay customs import tax. At the end of the day they cheated Uncle Sam, and many Chinese businesses operate this way. The FBI isn't going to get involved unless it involves money and trail they can follow. Atmos makes no money but that doesn't mean they aren't on Nintendo's radar, the FBI just doesn't care or have enough to act on.

As far as never getting updates, as has been said before good luck getting their programmers extradited out of China. Their discord is active with comments of progress, and lets not forget their source code being 'leaked'. None of these CFW's are custom firmware replacements that have been written 100% from the ground up without using any modified Nintendo code, they are firmware mods that for some reason continue to be mislabeled as CFW. Let's not fool ourselves here into thinking any user/software mod is better than the other. That homebrew excuse people keep hiding behind isn't a valid one, Nintendo isn't making any licensing money for that software to be on their platform. Let's not forget the second you run an emulator it stops being "just about homebrew" and you are directly costing Nintendo money on any game that is or might be sold on the eshop.
