can someone explain what is

Open de map PCSG00042 by standing on the map and press triangle followed by cross

does it mean i have to decrypt the file ingame?

You have to do that in Vita Shell.

You'll want to open your ux0:/app folder, then select the PCSG00042 folder, press triangle to open the options menu and then select "Open Decrypted" and then you can press select to open the FTP server for file transfer.

This just decrypts the files in that folder for use during the file transfer.

Through vita shell, hover over PCSG00042 and press Triangle which should have a box pop up on the right side of the screen. The option your cursor is currently over should be to decrypt the file. (Hence press triangle to open up the options and press Cross to decrypt)

One other thing I've stumbled across is when you catch one of the legendary fish (Gold Salmon, Noble Carp and Serpenthead), the dialogue that follows currently isn't translated.

Bit hard to get a save file for these, but you can catch any of these fish quite easily at any point after the 3rd chapter's 4th day after completing the "Missing Tourists" urgent request.

Here's a link to a guide on the fishing to help with catching them: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/vita/644812-eiyuu-densetsu-zero-no-kiseki-evolution/faqs/78210/fishing

Is it possible to get a screenshot from this? and the location where it happens. I don't know if this is located in the scena files or in the eboot. If we know the exact Japanese signs it would be easier to find.

btw the bugs you reported are solved. Plus the first 2 quests are translated.

Ah, I completely forgot to take a screenshot of them, really should have apologies. I could get them on my second playthrough as they only appear once.

You catch the fish in the following locations:
Mainz Abandoned Mine - Golden Salmon
Old Armorica Road - Rest Area - Noble Carp
Ursula Road - Estuary - Serpenthead

Also glad to hear my reports are getting fixed! I should have a save for the "Search for a Certain Person" sidequest in Michelam soon as I'm almost up to that too.

EDIT:
Did some sleuthing on Trails in the Database and I'm managing to track down all of the fishing related lines:

Catching Golden Salmon: https://trailsinthedatabase.com/game-scripts?fname=t0630&game_id=4#13
Catching Noble Carp: https://trailsinthedatabase.com/game-scripts?fname=r0110&game_id=4#41
Catching Serpenthead: https://trailsinthedatabase.com/game-scripts?fname=r1500&game_id=4#137

Looks like they're all stored with the related area they're in.

I've also now got save files for the "Search for a Certain Person" quest in Michelam in late Chapter 3

Like before, first save is before quest (talk to the guy next to the entrance) and second save is at the end (walk through the door for a very long cutscene)

Thanks everyone for working on this!
What is the current state of the patch and what is left to do?

Thanks to the help of @Kirby567fan we made a major step forward. He was able to implement the EVO opcodes in the EDdecompiler. This means we van decompile and recompile the scena files. We don't have to manually edit them and can automate the process.

The current state is that we copied the full translation of geofront to the EVO version. But because we updated the full game we first have to do some tests. We currently have some game breaking bugs we first have to iron out.

Also thanks to @cyrano de Bergerac 2x EVO exclusive quests have been translated.

As allways you are welcome to help out.

Does this also means you can insert text into AO EVO, I dare not hope? ))

Yes a first test is all ready done and works. Just to be clear there is enough work to be done. So we first like to finish Zero before we start another project. And there is no point starting on AO as long as geofront is not ready.

I understand and agree completly. AO's Geofront transaltion is not even finished yet to start smthing. It's just there was not anything to work with, and now there is - so in the end someone (maybe it will be you and your team, maybe someone other) WILL do it.
It's all that matters )

Really cool to hear the progress on inserting the Geofront translation is going well! As a question then, does this mean that reporting larger issues with the current translation should no longer occur? As I've found a couple of random text issues (not related to translation quality or text box sizing)

I've also come bearing gifts! Save files for the last two Vita exclusive quests.

Clerk's Customer Service Guidance's start requires you to talk to the maid in the dining area after speaking to the guy I saved in front to get it started properly.

Guest Lecturer for Sunday School (Continued) ends automatically so there is no "before turn in" save for this one.

I’ve been quietly following your progress and thanks a lot for all you guys are doing.

I know it can’t be done with every track, but I’d love for someone to take a look at how to switch as much of the soundtrack back to the original versions. I guess this isn’t as easy as converting and swapping files.

Amazing work... There's one thing I'd like to ask though: in the old thread someone mentioned that it is possible to replace the low res Evo textures with the more detailed PC version ones. Is that something you guys were also taking into consideration?

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha

@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
