Universal Studios Japan's anticipated Super Nintendo World zone will finally be accessible to the public in a few months. The Osaka theme park will open on February 4th, 2021 and more details about what it will offer was announced in a press release.

One of the interesting attractions is the Mario Kart-themed rollercoaster which is supplemented with AR headsets and projection mapping technology. The ride takes place in a reproduction of Bowser's castle and while further details of this attraction isn't available, the press release does mention the ability to throw power-ups obtained from item boxes to counter competitors. It also mentions that the experience changes with each ride. Additionally, the press release mentions that this attraction is the fruit of 6 years of collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Nintendo's creative team, including Shigeru Miyamoto.

Moreover, the park is said to be collaborating with health officials to ensure a safe environment for visitors and staff.

As a warning, Japanese theme park rides are made for small people, so if you are taller than 6'2'' or weigh more than 250 lbs, you probably can't ride. They do a pretty good job of checking big people in line with the tester unit at the start of the line at least.

The Final Fantasy AR rollercoaster at Universal was pretty amazing, but part of my group was too large to ride it.
yea... you know... muricans...
OH DID I JUST MAKE A JOKE ABOUT FAT AMERICANS???!?!?!?!?!?!
hehehe yes i did :creep::creep::creep:

These are confusing to me. The park isn't opening today in the heart of Detroit or NYC. It's opening in Japan in February of next year. That's 3 months away, and last I knew they had the pandemic mostly under control. How much longer do we want to drag this out?
Theme parks of this scale are not primarily meant for domestic audiences, they depend heavily on tourism to be viable.

hum... question
Is that Super Nintendo World or Super Mario World?
Because... I don't see much Zelda, Pokemon or Kirby there
They have Hyrule it looked small Donkey Kong too but this is a scaled down version, the one in Orlando will be the big one and I believe CA will be the next big one because they signed a deal with Universal so a couple more years it will be open

It's NOT "under control" as you may think. Sorry to ruin the fun.

Oh and btw.... Donald Trump lost! LOL :rofl2: (just thought I should let you know as you seem like one of his big fans.)

Tourists who would be subject to a two week quarantine upon arrival?

Your assumption of me was not only off topic, but completely incorrect, lol.

As for the theme park topic, is it not reasonable to expect "two weeks to flatten the curve" to be mostly over after 11 months (what it would be in February), especially considering that part of the world contracted the virus long before the West even knew what it was?

I was mostly joking around.... The problem that most countries are having is that people travelling that do not show symptoms are spreading it as they don't know that they have it and so they either aren't careful and/or aren't wearing masks. I also know that it will take a while before everyone gets vaccinated... So it will be a while before countries get better. But here's to hoping it's better sooner then later.

Surprisingly enough, the only country in the world right now to have it under control is China.
