so im curious what flash card is best for an original ds lite? the snoopy card i was gonna buy is out of stock and im not up to date on ds flash cards aka R4 cards
DSTWO is the absolute best for a DS Lite. But I'm not sure if they're still being made. I checked a couple of sites and neither have it. Could be tough to find one in stock.so im curious what flash card is best for an original ds lite? the snoopy card i was gonna buy is out of stock and im not up to date on ds flash cards aka R4 cards
I heavily disagree with the R4i Gold assessment. I think its the best cart for the money. The original is gimped with small sd card size and no modern advancements.
Personally I think the DSTWO is also the best but its not readily available any more. Nor does everyone want all the features/power it offers.
What do you mean by bottom-barrel products? Aren't they just like the ones that end with .cn or .hk? Only difference that they end with .com? Why is AKAIO better than Wood or YSMenu? As DSTwo is not available anymore, is TTSD and Acekard 2i the best? Better than the R4 SDHC Dual-Core and Gold? I don't like the gold color. I want the Dual-Core for the white color or the black ones mentioned above. There are so many.Supercard DSTwo - premium features (a coprocessor), premium price
r4ids.cn - balanced product, runs Wood
original R4 (r4ds.{com/cn/me}) - no SDHC support but fully brick proof, runs Wood
Those above are "the best" when it comes to compatibility but you're almost a year too late for the latter two, even longer if you wanted the dstwo
As second choices you have the TTDS (decent) or the Acekard 2i (better, after all it runs AKAIO which Wood is based on, but nowadays grossly overpriced)
Avoid bottom-barrel products such as r4i-sdhc.com, r4isdhc.com and r4i-gold.com
The .com products are all timebombed, that's why. (notably r4isdhc.com, r4i-sdhc.com, r4i-gold.com) They're also a DSTT-based clone, which means it runs YSMenu, which means it kinda sucks if you want to run anything other than clean ROMs.What do you mean by bottom-barrel products? Alright, this helped me getting a better overview. I'll go for the R4 Dual-Core and Acekard 2i and try them. The .com products are all timebombed, that's why. AKAIO has its own kinks, but that isn't to say it's not better than Wood, but it certainly is better than YSMenu. Avoid DSTT carts where you can, you can get better carts for the money you pay for it. Generally speaking, if you can find something that runs Wood that should be what you're getting.
r4isdhc.com.cn and r4isdhc.hk carts come in 3 colors, white, black, gold. (They're all the same hardware at the end of the day.) Also runs a decent version of Wood kernel so that's a plus. Nowadays there aren't many options.
