Now, I don't wanna freak you out or anything, I could be fully wrong. But those pictures make the inside of your switch incredibly messy, dirty, and/or damaged. Like, are those burn marks all around the edges of the chip board? If so, you full well may have damaged the chip and the switch itself.

I really hope it isnt burned as i just bought this back in october also used a fine tip for my soldering iron to avoid that the mess is just thermal paste :P i beileve

I can't see all that much with the photos, but I would check with a multimeter that nothing got shorted to start with (and that everything needed connection has continuity). The joints over both "SP1" and "SP2" seem like there is too much solder and possibly bridged the connections (again I cant tell with the photo). Afterwards take a look at the joint above "SP2" with a macro zoom, microscope, or magnifying glass, the ribbon cable appears melted in that area from what I can see. Definitely consider cleaning the chip thoroughly with some high-percentage isopropyl alcohol so inspection is easier :)

Sorry but these solder joints aren't looking good at all. Try cleaning them up with a blade type soldering tip. I had great success doing that on my SX Lite.

Also, it might be worth putting some kapton tape over the ribbon cable to avoid shorts with the metal shield.

Also i reconnected the battery after resoldering and now it blinks blue one time then goes to a solid pink light i think i killed my switch T_T as the NAND Chip is plugged in as well thak you 0reo im about to desolder everything and clean it with 99% IPA

There's still hope! I had a Switch Lite do that after initial install, but after 2 re-solders it came back to life. Just need to be extra diligent with the soldering and verifying connections. With just the naked eye, my initial connections looked great, but turned out there were some very tiny gaps I couldn't see until after magnifying. Mine also seemed to be picky about the type of solder I used, I could never get it to work with lead-free Sn/Ag solder, but after switching to a high-quality Pb/Sn solder it worked great (flows a bit better, especially at lower temps).

if it is purple it is bridge/shorted, red for sp2 from experience. I usually update the modchip to v1.3 before attempting.

not going to lie, the shorter side of both sp1 and sp2 look a bit shitty. use flux and reflow the extra along the longer side of sp1 and sp2

Red LED: Chip can't communicate with NAND(Flex cable may be loose or Wrong soldering)
Purple LED: Normally or your solder is in short circuit or one joint is soldered and the other isn't on SP1 or Sp2
I recommend to clean the board with isopropyl alcohol and to use some flux when soldering

Edit: If you know how to desolder, remove the chip and try to turn on, to see if none capacitor was damaged

I think even if both capacitors are out, the system would still boot up

Update for anyone that cares at all I de-soldered everything thankfully the mod chip is still usable but my switch is showing no signs of life at all have to go to my local wally mart to get a new one because i don't think i can send this back to amazon I bought this last month for my brothers kid so I'm really kinda sad i have to work another week before I can do anything with this chip.
Does anyone know if amazon will take it back and give me a refund?

Well you could send it back to amazon after closing everything up and try "Oh, I have no idea why it broke, just stopped working one day", but there's no garuntee it'll work.

Invest in some flux, it will help alot

clean part to be soldered - flux - tin part - clean - flux - solder part - clean

^ that's my general work flow when I'm soldering other stuff

Probably you burnt the CPU unit or damaged the board, you can try to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, but it's unlikely to work
I don't think Amazon would give you refund, cuz it was opened before and normally all eletronics that you open and modify it,you lose the guarantee

Just a quick update I re-soldered The chip into place after replacing the capacitors and I now get a green light and a clean boot.dat error screen currently looking to backup my NAND any simple tutorials on how to do this with the SX OS Boot Screen?

You need to setup your SD card with the latest boot.dat from team xecuter, after that, you can backup your nand on sxos configuration menu

I appreciate the quick response MrVtR does it matter what format my SD Card is ex./FatEx/Fat32? I have a 512gb card I was gonna use to backup my games to as well. Also is the backup process simple im still on 10.2.0 if that matters

Use Fat32(ExFAT will cause corrupted files one day) and backup your NAND for EmuNAND on a hidden partition. This will prevent you from accidently deleting the NAND-Files from the SD CARD.

Prepare the SD Card and then let SX OS create the dat file, then press "back) and power off the console(Options>power off).
Activate your SX OS using the license-request.dat-file. Copy the generated license.dat- file to your SD CARD and Power on the Switch while holding down the + button. Otherwise the Switch will inject the original NAND and then you have to factory-reset the switch before.
When you see the SX OS menu, do the NAND COPY as described at the beginning of my text :D
