Hello,
I broke the ceramic capacitor from a Switch Lite, where the chip get vcc and gnd.
What's the value of it?

Thanks

If you broke it trying to put in a Mod that supposedly does not require soldering, i can't imagine what you would do trying to change it ...

Take him to a competent technician and stop playing technician!

No one knows about that capacitor values?

I know is not neccesary to make the modchip works (you can solder directly to the pcb pads) but it looks kind of electrical protection SMD

For what I could gather, these are decoupling capacitors for the SD card reader. Maybe there is some way we could figure these values out.

Are you a troll or a junkie?

I got this Switch from a customer who bought it "broken" for few dollars...

Sadly no one know the value of this.

@Newtman Can you do me a favor? Are you able to measure the two capacitors on the upper part of the image? The blue and the grey one. Just realize now that those two are missing on my board.

I manage to measure the bigger one. It's value is 4.7μF. Don't know the specifics (if it needs to be 10V or 25V or even if it is X5R or X7R). Bough some 0805 to compare that is schedule to arrive this week; will update here if it is the same size.

Wish me luck.

Just an update. The bigger capacitor is not 0805, it is smaller. Comparing both it looked like it should be a 0504 or 0402. Didn't find anything with the same value of Farad for 0504, so I'm gonna try my luck with the 0402. I will post any update here when I manage to do that.

I installed the sx lite properly, and got everything working well, but I had to go back in today. Somehow I managed to pop off the same cap that you accidentally removed. The big one above the sd card slot. Iam now unable to even get the switch to power on. Did you get your issues sorted out?

I replaced the cap with a 0402. Could'nt get it to boot though.

Hi @hiju123, welcome to this godforsaken post, haha!

Long story short: I will not be able to give you an answer yet. Sorry.

I'm in my own dilemma here because, in my case, I have three capacitors missing. I have realized too, by trial and error, that the correct size for the bigger cap was 0402, but I also have to replace the two caps above which, by size comparison, seems to be 0201. I don't know their values, though, only the big one, so it will take some time until I get this right.

Did you try to turn the Switch on without the SX Lite? I know is a lot of trouble to work backwards to the problem, but maybe it is worth it since this way you can know, for sure, if the installation was the culprit here.

@hiju123

To be more precise, these are the components missing. I don't even know if they are actually capacitors.

Could you help me identifying them?

Ok i just examined the pcb once again today and noticed that the cap right below the 0402 is also missing on my board. Iam sure I must have dislodged it in the struggle that ensued while I soldered the 0402 in place. Damn me !! No the the thing doesnt boot up irrespective of whether the sx lite is connected or not. I desoldered the sx lite connectors and have stowed it away to use if I ever buy another lite in the future.

Haha, I know the feeling, man.

I think that one is a 0201 with the same 4.7uF if you ever decide to try and fix it.

0201 cap rated at 4.7uf. What could be the voltage ? 6.3 v? Also are the caps above the sd card slot necessary for the device to boot?
