I've been using my Jailbroken 5.05 PS4 (It is COD WW2 Edition 1TB SLIM)
and it seems like 3.5 times out 10 when i press activate HEN button, the console crashes and has to do disk search procedure.
Except for the moment when I Activate the exploit I never had it crash, but this is still pretty bad.
Does 6.72 crash more than this or should I just try updating and stop worrying about backport?

supposedly, 6.72 is less stable. however, I'm still on 5.05, so I can't relate to that. what version of hen/how are you loading hen ? that doesn't sound right for it to crash that often. the only time mine ever crashes is when I deploy too many payloads in a short time frame.

I'm still using 5.05 HEN, 9 out 10 and sometimes 100% success using the current exploit.
For those 6.72 required games, I will download the 5.05 compatible version like the Spiderman.
So right now there's no need to update to 6.72, unless the exploit is super stable, as of now 6.72
still not stable.

cthugha.exploit.menu/ I use this from User's Guide and it must be the latest version I think.

I've been having a similar experience after having to re-cache a newer browser exploit. Up until the other day, 5.05 had been VERY stable. I never had a single crash, so I always thought people were exaggerating.

6.72 has been rock solid for me, utilising rest mode. Zero crashes. I'm not disputing that people have crashes but in my personal experience it has been fantastic. Leeful V10 2.13b

my friend @Hayato213 recently updated to 6.72, and he said he had several issues with it (not sure if they've been resolved). I trust his and @KiiWii 's judgment (use xproject mostly), so right now I'm sitting on 5.05. the only two games I have that are unplayable are control and ghostbusters.

Been using @Leeful v9b of his exploit menu, so far 5 successful activation of the exploit and one fail, and the one fail didn't crash the PS4, just need to restart, to try again, as for backporting goes, not every games is going to work on 5.05. In addition I ran into problem with Detroit become human, probably a bad dump where it cause the PS4 fans to speed up and then shut down.

you're very lucky if you've never had a crash.
The frequency of crashes I'm experiencing now, makes me think something else is going on.. crashed two times in a row yesterday! The canRemove settings I had to set manually in app.db, are lost after crashing. It seems to only affect games on Internal Storage. I've been reading the db_rebuilder posts over on PSXHAX by @Leeful and others, but not seeing anything on the specific issues I'm having. Definitely seems like some wonkiness going on after rebuilding the database though.

you can look at the database with sqlite browser 3. it has several numbers that must mean something. it's easier to read the the vita app.db.

I'm kinda curious about other payloads, besides normal hen, since I've been dumping certain things. I know that you don't have to use hen, you can use ftp by itself, and it'll still work.

I don't know how it determines the actual location of the game on the ps4 (do you?). the app.db on the vita uses page/position fields. if two games are on the same location, it may either show just one or neither (can't recall which). it might be easy to figure that out by making a folder.

I'm not certain.. can only speculate.. that it uses the filesystem data or some hash function. When you plug in an External drive, it goes through a lengthy process of adding everything. There doesn't seem to be any additional scanning done for Internal games added by the python script.

thankfully, it's easier to manage than the ps3 database (in the mms folder). that seems to have some sort of hash check for tampering with. it's still not understood, and it can't be opened with sqlite either. someone claimed it could be with notepad, but I tried it and it's just gibberish.

Looks like games and DLC installed to the Internal storage before the database rebuild will need to be reinstalled or their db settings get messed up after every crash. External drive seems unaffected. It's still unclear what's causing the frequency of crashes. What exploit are you using @godreborn and is it the most recent cached?

I"m using the latest xproject on 5.05. I have it cached. and, I'm using the sandisk connect to be offline entirely, so I have the internet enabled in case I need to dump something like a theme, which I've been doing for someone to study them. I've dumped about 30 themes so far.
