  1. You can use Checkpoint, EdiZon, or JKSV. The location will vary depending on which save manager you use.
They are pretty similar or, in your opinion, one is better than the others?
  2. It makes the most sense to use the console's own Data Management feature to uninstall game data.
Perfect, so with the Console's Data Management tool I can unistall the game per se (with all DLC and update) and then I've seen that I can also delete game's save data.
  3. You can have as many SD cards with CFW files as you want but be aware that any game data installed to the SD card will not be carried over.
Okay, so according to which SD card I'm using there will be only the games previously installed on that specific SD. But if I'd like to prepare another SD card, should I repeat all the steps carried out to run the hack for the first time (I've installed Heckate+Atmosphere by DeepSea) or not?
  4. There is always a risk of getting banned when going online with a hacked console.
So there isn't a way to retrieve those games bought from the e-Shop that I did not install, correct?

Thank you for the answers, I've inserted other doubts (in dark blue) in the quotation above.

Is there a way to install tinfoil with jits on my Switch.

My switch is running atmosphere with hekate (fuse-secondary).

I know, that i have to inject the fusee-primary.bin in rcm but can i access hekate from there too?
Is autoRCM available there too?

OK I'm able to load atmosphere and I have my SD partitioned for EmuMMC. I've done the NAND backup and got the consoles unique keys. I have the following applications installed in the homebrew menu: Daybreak, EdiZon, ftpd pro, goldleaf, HB App Store, JKSV, NX-Shell, nxdumptool, NXThemes, reboot to payload, and RetroArch.

So far I've played some emulated games in retroarch for SNES, NES, and MAME.

I'm in airplane mode so that I don't go online and risk ban. Some noob questions:

1. How do I access the HB App Store without risking a ban? Do I have to use 90dns first and then take it off airplane mode and then launch the HB App Store?

2. The SD card I have is a 256 Sandisk Extreme. I was thinking of upgrading to a 512 Sandisk Extreme Pro for faster read and write speeds because transferring my "nintendo" folder to the micro SD using my PC took 3 hours and that's with USB 3.0 and the folder was 30 GB.

3. Every time I install the SD card into my PC, it asks if I want to perform a format. I select no. It's asking because I believe it can't see the partition that has EmuMMC installed on it. How do I fix this so that I can see the partition on windows and avoid accidently hitting 'format' one day.

4. When I go to system settings current version shows: 10.2.0 | AMS 0.15.0 | E This is what I want, correct? I don't want it to boot into sysMMC because that risks a ban, correct?

1. Yes its 90dns. https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/blocking_updates/
2. The Nintendo-Folder was 30gb?!? (Mine is 22mb)
Take a look what is in the nintendo folder

3. How do you install your sd to your pc?
I use hekate -> tools -> USB Tools -> SD Card

This allows me to connect my switch to my pc via usb and hekate mounts my sd card (which is in my switch) directly to my pc.

4. Yes. Correct.

So you are using a USB Type-C to USB-A 3.0 cable? What brand? I don’t have that cable yet and I’m using RCM loader to install payloads.

I’m using a jahovans usb 3.0 card reader to transfer files from my PC to micro sd card. It just plugs into the USB 3.0 slot on my laptop. Search for this ASIN on amazon: B07MK99R14. When I put it in the USB slot, it asks if I want to format the drive in windows because it can’t see it. I can only see the sysNAND partition on the SD card. Windows actually assigns another drive letter to the partition that it can’t read.

Transfer speeds are slow like 10MBS.

My nintendo folder probably has some downloaded saved games on it.

Ok, had a switch with sx OS that was online banned. Sold that switch.

Bought another unpatched switch. I wont be using any pirated games or play any pirated games.
I will be using legit eshop purchased games and checkpoint for save editing.

Want to use atmosphere, but I am overwhelmed with all the information out there. this patch. that patch. this and that lol.

Is there any atmosphere CFW installation guide for the basics?

How do Switches exactly get banned? I know that once it is banned, you're screwed, but how does Nintendo ensure this? There needs to be some sort of information somewhere about that console being banned, right?

  1. They all generally function the same
  2. Yes
  3. You just need to have the files for CFW on the SD card. Technically, the entire exploit has to be repeated every time the console is turned off
  4. Not without risking a ban

Every Switch has a console-specific certificate that is burned into the device. Nintendo simply blacklists that certificate once it is banned.

Why can't the certificate just be forged?

Thank you man.

So, just for understanding, on the other SD card I put all the file that I have in the first one and then, I need to repeat the phase in which I inject payload ecc., is it correct?

Hi all,
First of all, thanks in advance to all the people for reading this Noob questions.

I followed the guide, and also read the FAQ. I used fusee-gelee on 4.1.0 with emuMMC, and I inject this file hekate_ctcaer_5.3.4.bin. But it is unclear to me what to do afterwards, my objective is to connect to the nintendo store buy some games, also play original games online. Homebrew for me is only for development and I do not fully understand the jargon. When I click launch there are 4 options CFW(sysMMC), CFW(emuMMC), Stock and Fusee. As far as I understood CFW(sysMMC) is to play everything legal there. I have not installed nothing so far after creating the emuMMC. I have not removed the DNS for protection.

1.- how do I know if it is safe to play online on nintendo at sysMMC? Should i check something?
2.- can I update through the nintendo service on sysMMC?
3.- I see some comments that as far as you do not run CFW you are safe but when I am click CFW(sysMMC) at launch, am i running a CFW already?
4.- Also they mention not running homebrew on sysMMC. If I go to the gallery. Am I already running homebrew?
5.- Also another tutorials mention you should only play online after factory reset, factory reset where and how?

So far I have not found a guide to connect and play my legal games after the installation of emuMMC (from the guide mentioned at this post). Developing on emuMMC seems more clear, and also updating there should be "Manual", and installing stuff is also clear.

Less important notes:
-I did not have a ssd on my switch. I bought one only for this.
-I have not connected to nintendo service for years. I did not have time for years. I think is not relevant but I wanted to point that out just in case.

Regards

Don't start the Switch with CFW SysMMC, until it's necassary. Do homebrew stuff with EmuMMC!
1- If you haven't booted with CFW into SysMMC, and not became online on emuMMC without any protection, you should be fine. When you are going to go online, start your Switch normally(Stock) afaik. There is always a ban chance.
2- Yes, again in stock SysMMC.
3- Yes... If you were online while doing that you are probably banned. Consider restoring your NAND backup in case you weren't banned just yet. (This may delete your save data.).
4-Yes, see above.
5- You don't need do that if you haven't booted up with SysMMC CFW, but you did. See above

If you want to install SX Core to not deal with the injecting payload process, I would recommend you to install something like Trinket M0, which is a better option in my opinion(Because of the future of TX and price).
