This worked perfectly for me. I have to say though, the selection menu is really hard to use because you can't tell what's selected due to the colours being used on the text. Both the text itself and the highlighting are just shades of white.

Update:
I am also getting the following error for some applications
No bootfile found for UEFI
Maybe the image does not support X64 UEFI

To create the key with Ventoy2Disk, I checked: Option/Secure Boot.
Yes, it works well and all the layout of MEDICAT is perfectly preserved.
And if I can afford it, I propose other modifications for the presentation of the files where the ISOs are stored:
1/ Add 2 folders:
- Data_Recovery, separated from the folder "Backup_and _Restore".
- Secure_Erase
2/ Split the folder "Boot_an_operationg_system" in 2 different folders :
- Boot_an_operationg_system_LINUX.
- Boot_an_operationg_system_WINDOWS.
*** MEDICAT is the best USB Key for troubleshooting and maintenance ***

So this is what I can see. There's no green/red highlights like on your screenshots. Also my laptop only supports UEFI mode, it doesn't have legacy boot.

Update: I think you used the wrong theme in the ventoy.json, after I switched back to the other file instead (ventoy.json.bak -> ventoy.json) the theme seems to work fine now.

I also found a typo in your Update archive which caused an extra Backup_And_Restore folder to be created. (Check for an extra space in the update Backup_And_Restore folder).

As a replacement for DBAN, I'd recommend you take a look at ShredOS instead.

Related to create a new larger thumb or another, I did a backup using AOMEI Backupper and:

* Works perfect
* Just the used size
* Faster than the common pen creation

Easier to deploy or recover with custom Apps and Settings
Tested on 18.10 - USB 3.0

--

Being that, @Jayro, you would like to test it, maybe good for 20.xx as well and easier for sharing an smaller file and install.

Okay, the tutorial is up on page 1 as a spoiler just above the screenshots section, but here it is here as well. Sorry for it being late, I had to cook a steak dinner before I was able to finish.

Alternatively to this, you can just create the larger blank drive with Ventoy, and then just extract everything out of the NTFS partition of the MediCat USB image file using 7-Zip to the larger drive. Saves you a fair amount of time.
Thank you so much Jayro, keep up your good work we all love it.

Are you booting it via BIOS or via UEFI? There's a good chance if one mode fails, the other mode might succeed.

please, jayro
add redorescue.iso to next realease of medicat ..
thanks...
Rescuezilla is already it's official successor, so there's no need. Redo just suddenly started making updated versions again which is nice, but it's been replaced by something superior to it. But by all means, feel free to add it to your build. MediCat is all about making your toolbox work for YOU! :D

I just spent about 5 hours creating new icons for every .ISO, .WIM, and .EFI file in all the menus. Most of the time was spent searching for clean source images, cleaning up the bad ones, adding transparency to them, resizing them, saving them as new icons, and editing the ventoy.json to point each image file to their corresponding icons. Here's some screenshots taken in VMware so you guys can preview what they'll look like when the next release drops. (Not any time soon, no worries.)

I think they turned out rather well. Some I couldn't find Icons for, like HDAT2 and Spinrite, so I just gave them a DOS prompt. Fits rather nicely though.

The new icons look great I have been trying to make some myself with not much success. What program do you use and how do you get them to look circular?
