Homebrew Question How to be sure a nsz/nsp/xci file is safe?

Hi, yeah you understand the meaning of the question but I will take on exemple the AM2R port since it's not piracy. I'm not asking where I can get it or anything related to that but for exemple this game is not official, so the signature is not official and it will be detected like this with any type of installers

How can I check if a nsz/nsp/xci file is safe when the only protection on installers against bad stuff is the validity of the signature?

If valid signature not enough for you, then decompile and check every byte of file.

Do a full raw NAND backup and do not care about all of that.

I'm using emunand and I do have a nand backup but my concern is about the physical brickers

what is xci explorer and do it also support nsz and nsp?

NSC Builder, and emunand should do the job. It supports nsz and nsp.
Also, what do you mean by "physical brickers"?

It' a windows program that lets you check a lot of games aspects like picture and title and else. problematic files have problem in those areas. and it does support all files.

I use NX Game Info. It's great tool and tell you if it is convert, original, and safe.

hey I have try nx game info but how can I know if the file is safe ?

(ignore the second attached file I have figure out how to make it work)

You need it. Put Prod.keys file and nx game info in same folder and run nxgame info again.

When you open it. Do you see bottom is scroll bar that move back to forth ? Slide it to forward and you will see "safe" in there.

where should I see "safe" ?

just use NSCBuilder. It will tell you if it's safe or not. If you are extremely paranoid as you seem to be... if it say something is modified. Don't use it...

No. The "pass" and "safe" next to each others .. Here:

copy over your titles.key to the folder and rename it to keys.txt.
Then just follow the guide
